hi! I joined Tripawds in 2017 when I found out my sweet cat, Leo, had a rare form of osteoporosis in his pelvis. I elected to have him undergo a hemipelvectomy (leg + half pelvis) amputation in attempt to remove the tumor. This gave me another 6 months with him that I will forever be grateful for, but unfortunately, the tumor returned with a vengeance in his abdomen, and I ultimately had no other choice but to put him down and end his suffering. ):
In January of 2018, I stumbled into the Tripawd life once more when I adopted my Aussie pupper, Ella. Ella was found as a stray with a severe injury on her front leg that led to an amputation to her shoulder. When I learned her story, it felt like we were meant for each other. We now live happily with my other kitty, Zooey and a yet-to-be named betta fish!
Even years later, I still am heartbroken at times when I think about poor little Leo, whose life was cut far too short. However, I regret nothing I did, and will forever be grateful for any of the time I get to share with the animals in my life. 💛
