Thanks for the update on Maggie, remember she doesn't know she is very sick! She just expects life with lots of love from you as usual! You are a loving and brave pawrent as you go through so many difficult issues.
Sending prayers and hugs for Maggie and you too.

Grateful for every moment we had with Paris…..no regrets!
Honoring her life by opening our hearts & home to Addy!
Karen,
I know that Maggie is a strong little girl and hopefully it goes without saying that she is in my thoughts (and heart). But I wanted to say to you that your strength, love and devotion is inspirational to me. You always seem to handle the downturns so well. I get sort of panicked and paralyzed. I think you, as a pawrent is a great strength to all of us.
Lots of wuv, wags and wiggles!
Comet's mom
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Thanks all for the good thoughts and support.
Maggie is doing a little better energy wise. I finally got close to a whole days worth of food into her on Sunday- so Monday and today she has been much more herself. She is even eating some solid food, including some dry dog food. I prefer it to be somewhat wet to keep the moisture value up- but I'll take what I can get.
She really likes eating out of the syringe- she still won't eat the same stuff out of a bowl on her own. I sort of feel she is playing me a bit- but the most important thing is to keep getting the food in her.
We have an appointment with the oncologist next Tuesday to see what options we have- I'll let you know.
Dawn- the shots for nausea and vomiting were in addition to the pills she is on. Since she wasn't keeping anything down the shots were like a booster. We had just switched her from pepcid to prylosec when she got sick last weekend- not sure if it is related. She is still on prylosec and has not been sick. I plan to ask the oncologist about the tagamet.
We are planning on attending the Nor Cal tripawds party this Saturday- I hope to see some of you there!

Glad to read a more positive update, Karen! Hugs to you and Maggie!

Hey Karen, we're so glad she's doing well enough to go to the pawty, wish we could be there.
Have you considered giving her some extra doses of Vitamin B? I've read in various places that it can be really beneficial for dogs and people when they're fighting off illness.

We're so glad to hear Maggie is eating more, and is feeling better! Go Maggie!
Hugs,
Holly and Holly's mom
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Go Mags! So very glad to hear you're feeling better and eating a little more. You must keep your strength up to fully play mom.
