So sorry to hear about Luna. Breaks my heart that this has happened at such a young age. I am going through the exact same thing you are right now with my 8-yr old Labrador, Gabbar. I've raised him since he was 2 months old and my world revolves around him. Over the last 3 weeks, he has displayed the exact same symptoms as Luna. We have gone through the same process & are doing a biopsy & chest x-ray today, hoping against hope that it hasn't spread too deep. Luna & your family will be in our prayers.

Hijack Luna's thread for just a moment!
PATRICIA! Chance is not a statistic! And TRULY, every dog is different a d every scenario is different! I've been in here long enough to know that some of these "prognosis" based on younger dogs, older dogs, chubby dogs, skinny dogs, certain breeds, good candidate, poor candidate, don't mean squat around bere!
Just ask Bart, or Charlie, both young dogs, if they believe in "statistics" about younger dogs. They do not! Bart crossed over after four years and Charlie after almost three (and both from a second cancer).
SHEA's MOM...So sorry your beloved Chase had to head for the Bridge. Shea has a good Guardian Angel, that's for sure!' I'm sorry Shea is having a tough time without Chase. Have you considered bringing another dog into your lives to love and to bring some companionship to Shea? It may help her feel better.
I also want to acknowledge how you and Shea are reaching out to everyone here and offering hope and inspiration. You two are a wonderful team!
Now, back to Luna! You DO have options and I DO hope a second opinion can give you some treatment plans to pursue. And amputation is still an option that can relieve her pain and give her a chance at an extended quality life. There are many dogs who have gotten great extended quality time even with mets. Jerry is one of them!!
Lpve and hugs to all!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Luna is simply precious and looks so happy in her pic. I'm sorry to hear about the cancer diagnosis and my heart goes out to your family. Thankfully Luna found her way to you so she doesn't have to go on this journey at a shelter/rescue but with a family that obviously loves her to pieces. Don't lose hope and enjoy each precious moment that you have with your lovely Luna.
Sahana and her Angel Leland and Lucian too.

May you finally be healthy and running free at the Rainbow Bridge. Until we meet again my sweet boy!
Had a chance to click knto her photos...OMD!! The cutest AND HAPPIEST doggy!!
No one k kews how long any of us have in our earth clothes, but one thing for certain...It's clear that Luna if living a lifetime of love and joy and happiness every single second she is with you!!! 🙂 She isn't worried about anything and doesn't pay any attention to days on a calendar or stupid "prognosis" schmognosis!
I love in Virginia and there is a teaching hospital in Blacksburg, Va. I think it's a branch of Virginia Tech.
One thing for certain, and I mean this, Luna considers herself the luckiest dog on the Planet to have you as her humans!! You clearly have made everyday LUNA DAY and will continue to do so! Cheeseburgers, ice cream, pizza crusts...oh heah, this gal is loving her life with you.
Do not give up hope!!! Do all the research you can and get those second and third opinions! I know you have some hurdles, to say the least. There was a member who posted not to long ago whose dog is still going strong TWO YEARS without amputation!! Of course, I can't fi d the post no matter how many "search" words I ise. His name may have been Derek. And he used some of the treatments Jennifer discussed in her post to you. And, of course, the "other" issue with mets. Many, many dogs have gotten great extended bonus time completely pain free in spite of those pieces of crap!
Anyway, update us when you can. We know you have a lot in your plate right now. We are all here for you in anyway we can help, okay?
Now go give that sweet Luna a cookie and watch her tail wag!! See that tail?? All is well in Luna's world!
Lots of love to all!
