Holly, Zuzu and Susan
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

MB Samson and Lady MB
Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.

lost of positive thoughts coming your way! I sure hope it is benign!!!
Jac and Angel Spencer. Spencer was 5.25 years old. He fought a grade 3 fibrosarcoma, started on his shoulder. Left front leg amputated in August 2011. 15 weeks of chemo finished 12/22/11 (mytox and adria). Lung mets found on x-rays 12/28/11. Started carboplatin 1/6/12. Went to Heaven on 2/27/12. I miss him like crazy every day. See his blog here: http://spencer.tripawds.com/
Fingers, toes, paws and eyes crossed for a good outcome!
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Hang in there! I lost my dad almost exactly a year after my mom- and was pretty much convinced that every illness of anyone I knew thereafter was fatal. The point is - I was wrong! I completely understand why you are so worried, but remember there is still a good reason to stay positive. Best wishes ...
Hi,
Shamus is out of surgery and the vet said he removed the tumor with good margins. He said the tumor was very "smooth" which he said is a good thing. He suspects it is a histiocytoma which is benign. But, it will be sent for a biopsy to be sure. It should take 3 - 5 business days for the results to come back. Again...fingers, toes, paws, tails, eyes are all crossed for a benign result. I will post when the results come back. I will be picking him up tonight. Even with the cone of shame , he will be able to contort himself to lick at the incision. So, I am going to try to create some type of "mommy bandage" to prevent him from opening the incision. We have MANY singleton baseball socks which are just looking for a purpose. I think if I cut of the foot part and have him wear a few like a sleeve, it should work. We'll see.
Thank you for all of your positive wishes. I will let you know the outcome.
Take care,
Tara
OH! That's wonderful! I am so hopeful now since your vet gave you a good indication!
Mommy bandages always deserve pictures! The added cone of shame will be bonus!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Whew! I'm hopeful too.
B-9! B-9! Keep us posted.

Still chanting here in San Diego - B9 B9 B9!
And, yes, Mommy bandages and the Cone of Shame does sound like a photo op. There's a whole thread of pics w/ Cone of Shame photos...
B9 B9 B9!
Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. IT'S BENIGN!!!
Thank you all for your positive thoughts, it helped me get through the waiting time. The pathologist said the tumor was completely benign and it was related to a hair follicle. I have never heard of a hair follicle tumor, which was large enough to be visible. But, thank goodness that is what it was. I think Fergus was also sending some positive mojo to Shamus.
Again, thanks to all of you with your kind and thoughtful wishes. I will try to figure out how to post a photo of Shamus with his baseball sock. He loves it and has not once tried to take it off. He doesn't even need the Cone of Shame because he doesn't want to lick at his fashionable green sock/sleeve.
Have a great day,
Tara, Shamus & Spirit Fergus
Hooray for benign! One of the best words ever!
And, yes, we'd love to see Shamus sporting his sock.
Big kisses to Shamus,
Jackie, angel Abby's mom
