Hi everyone! The vet. called earlier today and said everything went fine ! Penny was sleeping then. I've tried to call now, but it's only the night staff there and no one could answer the phone. I will call tomorrow again. I'm sooo happy that everything with the surgery went well! /Gunilla
Hooray! That is good news and one big hurdle out of the way.
Rest up while she is resting up at the vet's! Keep us posted. Hope they have a good report for you in the morning.

Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
wonderful news that the surgery went well, and penny is resting!!! you try to rest now, too. once she's home, you will be watching every breath, listening to every whimper and not getting much sleep for a while.
charon & spirit gayle
Life is good, so very, very good!!! Gayle enjoyed each and every moment of each and every wonderful day (naps included). She left this world December 12, 2011 – off on a new adventure.

Glad the surgery went well! Keep us posted
Spirit Samson was Spirit Tripawd Daisys four legged "brother" and ruled as the self proclaimed head of the Monkeybutt Federations East Coast Division. Lady Chunky Monkey stayed from Oct 2011 and left for the bridge in Apr 2012. Miss Perdy is left and has some big pawprints to fill.

This morning vet. said Penny could get up by herself and she had pooped. So that was good. But they said she hasn't peed by herself yet but that wasn't so strange because she had an epidural during the amputation. She has quiet good balance but walk over doorsteps is hard. She had eaten. I'm so happy and I think she is doing great . /Gunilla
Well, that all sounds good! We will do the Happy Hoppy First Post-Op Poop dance. Treats for everyone! 🙂

Hi Penny and Gunilla. Happy to hear the surgery went well and the first poop is in the records books! You will be amazed at how well Penny will do when she come home. Just remember the first 2 weeks are full of big highs and big lows. And listen to Charon & Spirit Gayle's advice about getting rest before Penny comes home.

Hi! Thank you! Penny is doing great! I got her home friday. At first she was very alert but now a little bit more tired. I think you really are right the first two weeks will be both ups and downs. But for now everything is really going well . On Thursday we will meet the oncologist.
