Scheduled for left front leg amputation on 7/19, 3yr old black lab. Hard to make decision for slow growing tumor, but it seems like tumor has picked up the pace, big foot is causing limp, her daddy has decided maybe it will be okay. Read the ebook three legs and a spare….went thru caring for my 14 year old lab towel walking from a stroke for 6 months before she joined the dog angels and hope we can handle this next step.

Sorry to hear about your pup. What's her name?

If she's otherwise fit and healthy, she should adapt quickly and do well on three legs. Most dogs handle the amputation better than their people do! Best wishes for a complete speedy recovery.

Recovered well from that surgery but about same time left front paw began growing, finally this year vet dermatologist biopsy fot and dx of myxoma. They are letting me take home first nite, did not want to leave alone for several hours and agreed to release yo me since rn.
