I guess YAAAAAAAY that is the news we all want to hear and do not!! That's is the biggest blessing, and the belly issues are manageable trial and error, and you WILL get it under control again. Sorry about the blood in the stool your vet is on it, and that's another blessing whoo hoo!
Saxton has had belly issues since he was a kitten. We have to readjust every so often, but we manage pretty well considering. You will too!
CELEBRATE NO CANCER 🎉🎉🎊🎊👏🏻👏🏻no more rechecking for cancer just hopping on!!!
So HAPPY for you & Sky !!
WHOO HOO!!
This makes my day!!
THANK YOU SO MUCH, HOLLY!!!
You have been there cheering us on and correcting me, which I need!!
i'm on my way out to pick up all the new meds: Carafate, Pepcid and gel caps to try to make the Met a little easier. TBD on that.
But in the meantime my heart is lighter! Sky is still happy on the bed.. although he wasn't when I gave him the Met again. But all in all, it's a total WIN!!
You are all so kind and generous - I appreciate it more than I can express!!
Hi Petra,
Just back from all the errands - 7 stops! - and read your welcome and encouragement. It's much appreciated. I am careful to show only positive, loving energy in front of Sky. I know they are sensitive - and Sky more than most.
You have quite a crew - I had 8 at my peak - 4 dogs/4 cats but now keeping it at 4 (3 cats/1 dog). Would do anything for them. Well, Sterling my tabby with white paws tests that theory.. but probably him too 😉 . He's my badass cat.
Gotta go do more meds. Thanks again!!!

YAAAAYYYY for no cancer! Wow that is such great news, we are thrilled for you and Sky! And any vet who wants to see a photo of EVERY is a pretty outstanding doc. Wow!
And yes, I'm Jerry and Wyatt Ray 's mom, Rene. Thanks for sharing the scoop Holly.
Hey I just realized that you are still posting in the pre-surgery Forum topic. When you are able can you please continue Sky's recovery journey story, perhaps over in our Three Legged Cats forum? That will make it easier for people with specific cat concerns to follow along. Thank you so much!

Thanks, Rene, for all you have done! I guess we truly are on the recovery trail now.
Can you move the thread or do I need to just start a new one? The history will be lost that way..
Yes, my vet is 1 in a trillion! Not only does she want photos of every but she met me at the hospital after surgery and took Sky home with her for the weekend following surgery - and brought him home to me.. I don't live nearby either! No charge. Lots of TLC and extra treatments I couldn't have given him. Late night texts, phone calls... she is a saint!! Having said that, we have been through the loss of 5 of my pets together and fighting to save them prior to that. So we are war buddies. And sisters. I have made her co-executor of my will to ensure if something happens to me my pets will be cared for. I trust her. I am so lucky she is in my life!!! And so are my pets.
Thank you for this site - you and your team have been a godsend!!

GREAT NEWS AND GREAT UPDATE😁😁😁😁😁 We are all joining in on the happy dance Holly posted!!
My kind of dance! I don't have to get out of my chair and I'm not out of breath!!
Before I got to reply to the posts where you were "concerned" and second guessing yourself, then BAM! Here's this SPECTACULAR update! And btw Holly, my "rigjt words" (if I ever jave any!) would have been merely DITTOING your wise and knowledgeable post, along with DOTTPING Jerry's and Petra's, as well as Carol. Wise knowledgeable input indeed!!
Rebecca, I have to chuckle a little. You and Sky have been the PURRFECT example of why we call this recovery period a flippin' roller coaster ride!!! You have expressed the emotions of what we all go through splendidly!! A good day; a less good day; eating, not eating; sleeping, not sleeping, sleeping well; crying from fear and second guessing everything; laughing and cheering with every victory and feeling confident that the right decision was made!!! 😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂
This is a great "primer" for any newbie wanting to know what we mean by recovery being a roller coaster ride!! And we thank you yet again, for having the COURAGE to share your thoughts with us! Sky's legacy of helping others through you is already making sich a pawsitive difference for all of us!!
Love and hugs....and, yes, bowls of ice cream to celebrate🍨🍧
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
You are sweet, thank you for the kind words! As we like to say here, it's the entire community who makes this place so special.
Most people just start a new topic and include a link to the old one so that people can jump back to review the history. All of your posts also appear in your Profile if someone clicks on your Avatar, so nothing is ever lost, I promise 🙂
Here's to a great day for Sky and the pride! Keep us posted.

Ditto here is to a new normal fantastic day for Sky & the furmily!
❤️❤️❤️
I'll post this and then start a new thread.
Sally, I wrote a long message largely directed to you last night and then lost it as I had too many emojis in it. So I can't remember everything I said but I'll have a go.
Yesterday was momentous! Not only did we get the great news about no cancer detected, but like a Ginzu knives commercial.. there's more!
I fixed a celebratory dinner of steak and sat down to enjoy it. I looked down and lo and behold, there was Sky!! He had to negotiate a gate across the top of the stairs then make his way down the stairs for the first time on 3 legs!! I was beside myself with glee! Needless to say, he got a lot of steak!! He was a happy camper.
A while later he made his way into the kitchen and to the water fountain. After that he sat in front of the fridge, so I gave him some tuna. That was good, he thought. Then I went back in the Living Room and he showed up and climbed up on the sectional where we hang out and watch tv. He curled up like the old days
Dr Louise has been requesting Poop Pix. So this afternoon I ran a few errands in between meds and after getting settled back in, I decided to clean the downstairs cat box. I found a smallish poop outside the box. Hmmm I thought. Is another cat pooping outside the box? Or did Sky make his way downstairs and do this while I was gone. I sent a pic to Louise and she thought it was Sky's. I went back and took a closer look and yeah, similar to yesterday but more compact. But Clue #2 was the deal sealer: It didn't stink. Sky's shit doesn't stink . That's how perfect he is. Believe me, the other cats' poop does! So normalcy is returning.
The med/food schedule is ridiculous. Some twice a day, some 3 times a day, some with food, some on empty stomach and feeding him around that. How do people do this and work??!!!
Anyway, thank you all for your cheerleading and patience! I still have my hands full but progress is being made. Important progress
See you on the 3 Legged Cat Forum!

PS Bowl of ice cream of absolutely consumed!!!
