Hi Fortis' Mom, Pattie,
Welcome aboard!
I regret NOT doing an amputation NOW on her defomed front leg! And not just because I'm jealous (well, maybe a little)!
Comet developed kennel cough the day she was to have her amp as a puppy so the vet called off the surgery. And then she developed pnemonia. It tooks 2 months to finally get an antibiotic to knock it out. Well, by that time we realized her leg was like a paddle/cane that she used by moving her shoulder. It has no movable joint and doesn't have any feeling so we left it. But now as a senior, it does seem to be a strain to the rest of her body.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
