That's about right as far as pain meds go. Some dogs need longer but most don't. Her pawsonality is probably cooming back because the pain meds are being reduced.
Yay for belly rubs and "pawgress"!

Sorry for the delay in Riley posts. I have been recovering from my own surgery on Tuesday. I am doing well.
Riley is doing great. Her stitches are out- wound is looking good. She's eating and getting off the bed. We haven't tried to take her for a walk yet- but she does walk a little in our backyard. She is off all medicines at this time!

I demand all the bellies!
All the girls on nursing duty after my surgery:
She is no longer wearing vet wrap just a t-shirt to keep her off the incision area.
Wow she's looking great! I love that Vetericyn wound care stuff, it works great.
How's she doing otherwise? Getting around OK?

She has her moments. Sometimes she's amazing and other times she just lays in bed all day. She has started getting off the bed herself (we have a ramp) but only if there's food involved and I don't mean dog food.
I love that Riley is your Nurse...and you are hers! And glad both of you are well onto the road of recovery!
I want to smooch that sweet soft ummy of Rikey's! Looks like puppy belly! Her Incision looks really good!

She's a total brat. She will eat dog food if it is hand fed to her by Daddy. She won't go get it and she won't take it from me. Also, it must be fed 1 kibble at a time. If he offers 2, she turns up her nose.
She is half-Chihuahua so she was a finnicky eater pre-amputation. When we first brought her home from the rescue- we fed Honest Kitchen (it's a dehydrated raw food that has the consistency of oatmeal). She wouldn't touch it for months. If I put any of it on er kibble, she'd walk away! She's getting better (four years later) but she is still the only on of my girls that won't eat veggies or fruits. My other 3 love fruits and veggies. She really likes meat, cheese, eggs, and pb. Also, any non-water drink. We have to use all cups with lids bc she will hunt down your drink if you have juice/soda/tea/or lemonade.
It justnmakes me giggle visualizing all her antics! Clearlq she has you well trained!
I'm a big fannof Honest Kitchen too! Most dogs gravitate tonit instantly. Then again, Riley isn't like most dogs!!
Hugs!

No, she's not! We always say that she's FIRE! She's a very opinionated pup and not afraid to let you know exactly what she wants.
We also love HK. They actually profiled my Lily for one of their newsletters: http://www.theh.....bout-lily/
Just hopped over to your link about Lily. WOW! Now that's a truly real documented endorsement! And Lily's picture is adorable! What a treasure!!
