Hi all,
I finally got to talk to our vet tonight about the biopsy results on Maggie's recently removed bumps. The tumor that was on her side is definitely a MCT, but it is a grade I, and there were very few active cells. The margins were close because we only took the bump and not the surrounding tissue.
I consider this very good news- in fact the only thing better would have been that the tumor was not a MCT.
The odd thing is that the lab 'lost' the mass taken off her nose. It was pretty small, but my vet is sure it was in the jar with the other mass. I am only worried about it because sometimes MCTs on the nose or in the mouth can be very aggressive. The lab is going to recheck the sample jar and get back to my vet. If they don't find it I don't think I'll do anything else but keep an eye on the spot. Neither of us really think it was a MCT- it would be nice to know for sure though.
We are however off to the vet again tomorrow anyway- Maggie seems to have developed an incontinence problem. The vet wants to check a couple of things first- then we will probably have to put her on some meds- I have done A LOT of laundry in the past week!!
And little sister Tani will not be out done when it comes to vet bills!! She may have developed some new issues of her own- so it is a group visit to the vet tomorrow.

Glad to hear about the biopsy results, though what a bummer that they lost the other sample. The vet should have put it in a separate jar... As for the incontinence... I really hope they can find out what's causing it and treat it successfully... before your washing machine conks out!
Give Maggie a big kiss from me!!

Good luck at the vet's re: the incontinence....I hear ya' on Tani now joining in on vet visits. My other dog did that to me last fall shortly after Maggie was amputated!

Karen and the Pug Girls,
We are going to take this as very good news. Your diligence is definately good even if expensive. When I brought home my Poodle Sisters, I thought that is was so very great. While their presence was wonderful, the fact that they appeared to have major health issisues in tamdum. I almost appeared as if they were saying "I can out do Sister!" I do not think that I will ever bring two home together again.
We will be pulling for you and hope that you personal examinations of Spud will not bear any results. This is a time that not getting results is good - no growth is good growth.

Maggie-the-Indestructible-Spud---Whew! We're so glad to hear your good news.
Hope the vet finds and fixes the other problem so your mom doesn't have to keep doing so much laundry. And that Tani decides that being well is better than being expensive. Let us know.

Hey Karen, thanks for the update. That is good news, all things considered. But a lost mass? Eeek! Somewhere there's an unidentified mass hiding out...weird thought!
You are such a great mom to Maggie & Tani, your dedication and love is so honorable.
Good luck at the vet, we hope those issues get cleared up quickly.

Glad to hear the news about Maggie. I hope you didn't have to pay for the other mass!?? "You lose, you snooze, Mr. Vet!"
Let's hope you don't have to go down the diaper route! Best of luck on finding fixes for both, Tani and Maggie.

She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Good luck at the vet with Maggie & Tani. Congratulations on the grade 1 diagnosis. I'm amazed that they could possibly lose a tissue though. Hugs to the girls.

Good news with the grade 1. Too bad they lost the other sample, that's pretty annoying. It's not like we don't already have something to worry about. Geeze.
We shall send lots of good thoughts your way, those always help!
