oh Kami....I am crying with you...and go ahead and have yourself a cry, we are, after all, only human!!
Maxidad really had it right (so did everyone else!) this is NOT the period to the sentence. As bad as Magic's lung mets looked and as horrible as the xrays were...he went from that news to still romping at the park (well as much romping as his couch potato self ever did!!)...He didn't know what the xrays looked like! and look where you are....damn near 8 months out!! And there are things left to use that will buy you the precious time.
Know we will be taking every step of the journey with you.
THANK YOU THANK YOU so so much to each of you for your very comforting and wonderful comments and advice. I just so appreciate this and what you all have been through too. You've given me the strength to get through this and for that I feel truly grateful. Although my heart is breaking right now and the tears keep flowing, I'm making sure that I don't let Mackenzie know - that everything is normal like it was before I got this news. She's probably going to get tired of me kissing and hugging her so much - even more than I do now - which is to say a lot! I'm definitely taking your advice Maxidad about taking her to her favorite place right away. There's actually a few favorite places we have so I plan to hit them all. Starting with the pool in the backyard.....
I truly don't know what I would do if I didn't have my tripawd friends rallying behind us.
Thank you from the bottom of my heart!
Kami
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Edited to add: This is an encore presentation created by the other great production house, directed and produced by Kobe: KobeKam Productions! He also has a small bit part in it, too.
(this is NOT a Smartypants Production)
I think it's time for some Nancy Sinatra boot tapping music! Let's all crank up our speakers and sing along!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Ge'Lena - you are absolutely the best!!

Kami,
I'm sorry Mackenzie is not feeling well. I know that I'm late to your post but after reading through each response I must say it never ceases to amaze me just how much love and kindness is expressed within this community. Simply put, just truly passionate caring individuals.
I know your hurting deeply Kami but yet you remain strong, committed, and focused. Your an awesome pawrent. I will keep Mackenzie and you in my prayers.

"Going Dog" def: living every day in the moment
"It came to me that every time I lose a dog they take a piece of my heart with them. And every new dog who comes into my life gifts me with a piece of their heart. If I live long enough, all the components of my heart will be dog, and I will become as generous and loving as they are."

Kami,
I'm so sorry to read this recent news on Mackenzie
Why oh why....to our sweet pups does this have to happen.........
Thinking of you....live it up with Mackenzie now! Live in the moment, as they say...for Mackenzie!
Tracy & Maggie
Maggie was amputated for soft tissue sarcoma 10-20-09
Maggie lost her battle with kidney disease on 8-24-13
Oh no, no, no Shanna - that's not a smartypants production!
That's was by the other famous production house by the great director and producer, Kobe:
KobeKam Productions
I'm gonna edit to ensure credit is given to Kobe and not Comet!

Oh I'm so sorry to be reading this. Kami - my heart goes out to you. I often look to your experience with Mackenzie since Holly seems to be on the same treatment path that Mackenzie is on, and you've been so very helpful through this whole journey. Everyone has said it so well - keep on loving your beautiful girl, and make lots more happy memories with her. I love the idea of taking her to all of her favorite places - that's just the pick me up you need! Please give her a huge hug and kiss for us.
We're sending lots of pawsitive thoughts, and plenty of hugs across the miles.
Hugs,
Holly, Zuzu and Susan

Update
Thank you all again for all of your support and wonderful comments - I so very much appreciate it. I have another update – Mackenzie had a lump that was being biopsied. I didn't expect to hear anything until tomorrow but they called me last night (Saturday) to tell me that her lump is a metastsis from the osteosarcoma to the skin (the lump is fairly large along the side of her abdomen.) Hearing this news just hit me so hard. I felt like I was hit by a mack truck. I couldn't really understand what they told me next because of my state of emotion but I think they said that sometimes this metasis finds a favorable spot so it just might be this one tumor or it could be mulitples traveling through the blood stream (I don't even know if any of this makes sense.) So I will plan to call them tomorrow when I'm in a better frame of mind and figure out what this all means.
I'm really struggling with this latest news and haven't been doing so well today. That's why it's taken me a little bit of time to write again. But I'm enjoying my day with Mackenzie – haven't left her side today. We're in the pool and for some reason I find so much peace and tranquility when she's right beside me. That's when my tears stop .
Thanks again…I'll keep everyone posted.

Oh Mackensie, I'm so sorry. Ruthie was on Palladia for a brief time and developed other problems so we had to suspend it's use, so I can't really give you much advice on that. I don't know if you've tried Temador. That got 2 of her lung mets to become less dense and she had no side effects and I believe gave us some additional time. One of my favorite pictures of Ruthie was taken months after her first lung mets were discovered. So don't give up hope and enjoy every day you have. My prayers are with you and Mackensie.
Pat and Spirit Ruthie
more hugs... more healing, pawsitive thoughts being sent to you in huge waves from Chicago... we're keeping fingers, paws and anything else we can find crossed for Mackenzie.
