Yeah, some dogs don't have much of an appetite at first. Try some stinky liverwurst, the stinker the better. Macaroni and cheese works sometimes too.

Curious what lain meds the vet sent you home with.

And now your Rottie has to jave surgery?? Crazy!!! Is there any hope at all that this could be handled with extreme rest and anti-inflammatory? Guess Im just wishing you didn't have to deal with this right now..or later either!

Hang in there! Stay connected! Can't wait to see the photos!

Hugs to all!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Day 3 after op and Phoebe is wagging her tail and trying to run nearly pulling our arm holding her back. Appetite returning and we've not had one trip or fall, it's like she's always had 3 legs 😀

im on iPad at the moment but I'll use laptop later and upload pics of my baby 😄

What a fantastic update! And only 3 days out? YAAAY! clap

Do your best to keep her calm and mellow, it's the best way to avoid muscle pulls and spills early on. Remember, as energetic as she is, her body is still trying to adapt to using muscles in a new way, so she'll need time to work up to that. Hope you're all having a relaxing weekend!

Hi everyone, advice please

Constipation is a common side effect of most pain medication. A little bit of olive oil in Phoebe's food may help get things moving along. Be be careful what you ask for!

As Jerry's vet told us, when they need to go, they'll go. For more recovery and care tips, please be sure to bookmark Jerry's Required Reading List or consider downloading the Tripawds e-books for fast answers to questions like this. And, always call your vet with any serious concerns.

Thanks for the otherwise great update! Please keep us posted...
