Wow is all I can say.  I have been using a cut open, reuseable shopping bag to help him down the stairs outside and while using the bathroom.  This morning I try to do the same but as soon as I opened the back door, he took off and I couldn't keep up.  So he tackled the stairs and using the bathroom all by himself.  He slightly lost his balance but didn't even come close to falling.  So proud at how quickly he is catching on.  You can teach an old dog new tricks, or at least he is teaching himself.

Xrays taken Jan 31, 2014, Osteosarcoma biopsy results Feb 10, 2014, Amputation Feb 17, 2014, Happy and healthy until June 2015 when a hip tumor started to form, passed away Aug 22, 2015.  18 months past amputation is pretty remarkable for this miracle dog!

Impressive huh? I swear, so many people told me before hand how impressed I'd be by how well Jill would do on three legs, but you never really believe it until you see it with your very own eyes!!!

Keep up the great work!!!!!!

xoxo,

Erica & Jill

Jill is a 9-year-old tuxedo kitty. She was diagnosed with Osteosarcoma in June 2012 on her toe in her right hind leg. Her leg was amputated on 12/12/12 and she completed four rounds of chemo (2 of Carbo, 2 of Doxy) in April 2013. Oh yay! I'm so glad to hear things are better. Dogs and cats DO figure things out on their own, it really amazes humans. One thing they don't figure out (at least not always) is how to regulate their activity level. It's up to the humans to play school yard monitor to make sure they don't overdo things. You are doing a great job!

That's great!  I agree, it's so impressive the way they adapt to their new normal. Good news!

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
