Does any of your dogs do this?  Whenever Twiggy is in a real big hurry, is on uneven terrain, or her back leg is tired, she will run very quickly on her front legs, holding both her back legs up in the air.  She can really get some speed up doing it that way.

Must be a small dog thing. We saw a chihuahua do that on one of those funny video shows once. You won't find 80 lb. Wyatt doing anything like that. Grab the video camera next time!

Ok THIS I've gotta see! Too cute! And Admin is right, you definitely wouldn't see big dawgs like me doing that, we're just too heavy.

My in-laws had a chihuahua that would do that when she had to walk in snow.  I never saw it because she was old by the time I came around, but I've heard the stories.  She had all four legs, she just hated to let her belly drag in the snow.  laugh

My beagle will do this for a short period when it's wet or snowy out. She's not a tripawd, but she is a big baby when it's not nice out!

You might not find 80lb dogs doing it, but I've seen 70lb Sid do it!

He smacked his one hind leg on a step running into the house when we first had him, and for two paces he used his front legs only, holding that hind leg up and screaming the Greyhound Scream of Death.  I was absolutely stunned.  He hasn't done it since, but now I know he's capable!

And no, he wasn't seriously hurt. Greyhounds reserve that special scream for non-life-threatening injuries.  laughing

That we gotta see! Not that we'd want it to happen again... It's always good to hear from you Jay, these forums would not be possible without the help of your pack!
