This lil peanut should be a zombie, as she is currently on tramadol, gabapentin & carprofen & then when I have to leave the house I give her a trazadone so she won't stress so much 🙂
Right now the BEST moments are when she falls asleep.
I can't wait until after the surgery, I am hoping that she will bounce back quickly since she is so young & since the accident just happened a couple of weeks ago.
So to change the topic just a bit, any guesses on breed for this little foster pup? I just mailed in the DNA kit yesterday
Hi,
Milo was front leg amputee who was still using all 4 legs, albeit with quite the limp by surgery time. And quite a klutz going down stairs WITH four legs.
His surgery was a Thursday. On Monday morning I went upstairs to shower and when I came out, there he was in his usual spot next to my bed. We used our harness for the first time to get him back down the stairs. The first time we put something under it to protect his wound, but after taking a close look, we saw that it didn't actually touch the wound. Just darn close. So we went ahead and used it for going down stairs and getting into and out of the car.
Milo was on meds for almost 30 days with a constantly changing balance as his needs changed. Transitioning to 3 legs was a big shift in muscular alignment and resulted in aches and pains for the 10-year-old. We did meet a 10-month-old tripawd puppy at the vet once. Due to a birth defects. He was shy and afraid of every other dog we were told, and we saw him hiding from others when we came, but he loved our guy. The two tripawds.com were bouncing around in circles and the youngster was energized and ready to roll! But only with the big, goofy tripawd, aka, Milo.
Hopefully, your guy rolls with it like the cutie pie at the vet. Good luck on Tuesday.
Peace,
Jenifer & Milo

Beagle x Lab so that would be either a Bab or a Leagle...
I'd put money on it (famous last words...) I did one of those tests for my Meg.
Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, November 2023, adopted January 2024.
Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Elsie Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...
I just mailed away Gator's DNA. A 125 pound lab? There has got to be more in the mix.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
She seems to be on the skinny side, only 30lbs but nearly has tall & long as my JRT/ Lab, 50lbs mix Bella, so I was going to guess german shepard, whippet/greyhound, except that would be an odd breed for northern MN...... so we will see....
I have fun with the DNA tests, and have to say so far I feel that they have been pretty accurate as far as my pups & fosters go - which surprises me - although I guess it shouldn't . 🙂
