Hi I found this site through another forum.
Will start with a bit of background on my girl.
Peggy came to join us just over 2 years ago, she was found straying and taken to the emergency vets, she had multiple pellets in her back leg and it had been shattered, dog warden contacted the rescue I help out with and it was decided to amputate the leg, she did really well and has continued to do so, peggy is a staffy x whippet she runs, plays and hunts, generally loves life and go's at it like a bull in a China shop.
Over these last few months after being out for a walk shes started having problems getting up once she\'s lied down, peg is the type of dog that doesn\'t do sedate walks, ive had her checked over by the vet and a chiropractor and nothing has been found, im having to give her metacam every day to help her, we think peg is around 8ish.
Is there anything else people could recommend that could help her?
Jane

Have you talked with a certified veterinary rehab specialist? Peggy may also be overdoing it. Explosive exercise can be detrimental if core muscles are not strengthened. For plenty of professional tips and how-to videos about stretching, strengthening, PROM (Passive Range Of Motion) exercises, acupuncture, massage, hydrotherapy and more, download Loving Life On Three Legs now in the Tripawds e-books library or search the forums above. Hi Jane ad Peggy!
You've already gotten some great advice and good liks.
'Just wanted to welcome you and thank you for taking such good care of Peg. Even tnough she had a rough start, she has certainly been livi g a life of bliss with you!
Yeah, it sounds like maube the metacam, al g with joi t supplements, salmon fish oil, etc. may help. It could be you may have to use a "sling/harness" to maybe help her up some while the other potential solutions are kicking in. She could also be older.....it's so hard to kow.
Please keepus posted and let us know how things are going with that precious "bull in a china shop"!:
Hugs to all!
