my black lab entwistle had osteosarcoma and got his front leg amputated last April. he is doing very well and cancer free, but also has hip dysplasia (he's almost 9) and can't run around like he used to. his favorite things to do are chase balls and chew bones. without his front left leg, he can't prop a bone up to chew on it. I can see him trying to work out a solution but he just tries for maybe a minute and gives up. having an inactive life seems to really be bumming him out! we want to get him a friend but can't afford it at the moment. we go on walks but there too he doesn't have much endurance. I don't want him to be bored! can you think of any solutions, alternatives or some kind of jerryrig to prop up the bone for him? thanks so much!

Loving Life On Three Legs includes more professional tips and tutorials for beneficial stretches, massage and Passive Range of Motion exercises.

Our Jerry lost a front leg and eventually got the hang of working on bones. A quick search of these forums yields a number of topics discussing the same thing. Here are just a few...
