Thank you for the kind comments on the video! Mum and I think they put WAAAAAAY too much interview in, but we didn't get much say. My cousin is going to take the raw footage (as there was lots), plus do some filming of his own, and make us a great video of just them. Lily (mast cell) is going for an aspirate/biopsy on Tuesday, and Eva has another chemo on Monday. Like Karen, Lily almost lost a leg to MCT - she had a tumour on her foreleg, right on the joint. It was so close to the bone, and there was almost no skin or flesh or anything to stitch back together again once the tumour was removed. We decided to go ahead and attempt a clean removal, and then deal with amputation only if that didn't work out. Luckily, it worked out, although poor Lily had to stay locked in a crate for three weeks.

I haven't had a chance to figure out the boot situation yet, as I write the LSAT tomorrow morning and its all been a bit stressful. I really need to get something though, because Eva is getting worse, not better. She was so strong and mobile when I got her home, and for about four weeks post-op. Now she keeps slipping. I took them to the park today, which I do usually, but it didn't work out very well. Lily can be a bit of a bully, and she kept trying to "play" with Eva, but really all she was doing was knocking her over. Eva didn't even want to get up. I know they miss playing - they used to play all the time, and Eva still wants to, but she just can't.

I've put them on a new diet to knock off a couple pounds, so I'm hoping that less weight and non-slip boots will result in a more comfortable Eva. I think her hips and her back are hurting icon_cry

Have you tried supplementing with Glucosyamine? (sp?) Both of my girls use it and it made a noticible difference a couple of weeks after they started taking it.

My girls are old enough now that playing isn't a big deal, but Tani likes to be dominate and still pushes Maggie around and down sometimes.

Again good luck with the upcoming tests, keep us posted.

Well, Lily's tests are still to come (tomorrow) but I just picked Eva up from her fourth chemo. Can you imagine if people acted that way too? I dropped her off (her shaking and reluctant, as usual) and then, again as usual, came back to find her BLASTING through the swing door into the waiting room, careening around dogs/couches/people and hurling herself bodily on top of me. I just love her to bits - sometimes it actually hurts how much you love them, doesn't it? Love pangs.

I mentioned the difficulty with mobility to the oncologist, and I could tell that we were both thinking, but not directly saying, that we were worried about potential other tumours (I almost didn't even want to say anything, because I was scared of getting an answer). HOWEVER, the oncologist went ahead after I left and tested her all over for responses to orthopedic pain - nothing! whee! So I think its just the slipping and sliding thats the problem. Anyway, her fifth chemo appt is the beginning of January, and that's also when we get the next set of x-rays, radiograms etc etc. Rather terrified of that appointment, to be honest.

On the way home we stopped at a couple pet stores to try on boots, but nothing was big enough or suitable. I've measured her paws, and she's a XL by Ruffwear standards, so that might be my next try! I'm also going to get the paw wax or whatever it is - although I googled Roxie's recommendation, the Show Tack spray, and that looks like a good product too. I like that you can just keep putting it on. Guess we'll test drive 'em all! Tripawds guinea pigs.
