My Tripawd Chewy (40 pds) does not like the new stroller we bought for him. I know we need to get him used to it, any suggestions? I have put it into the living room, just so he gets used to the idea that it is around. We have put him in it and just petted him and given him treats. But, as soon as we let go of him - out he jumps. We really want to be able to use this. He loves the beach and edges of ponds in parks - but it is too fr for him to walk to - which is why we got the stroller. Any ideas would be appreciated. Thank you. Liza
Hi Liza! You ask great questions, we'll all try to help. If you can answer these questions it will help us focus our suggestions.
How long has it been since you started introducing it? And how many times a day have you tried your introduction to the stroller? You're definitely on the right track, but it sounds like he may need more time.
Also, what kind of stroller is it? Can you share a photo? Here is a post that explains about adding images to the Forums. Let me know if you'd like help.
These tips might also help (tips are about halfway down the post):
Teach Your Tripawd to Ride in a Pet Wagon
I remember when we tried introducing Jerry to a wagon. We tried to rush it and he was not a fan. I wish we had given it longer before we gave up, he would have loved to go the distance with us.
Try to be patient, I'll bet Chewy will get there!
