Today I went for a walk and I brought Vega as well. Usually, I only go with Novak for walks, because he's crazy and wants to run too fast with the other dogs and his back leg aint fast enought. But, today I went and wow, what a change! First, he seem to control himself better, meaning, that if he can't keep up, he wont try to go faster and then the back leg wont follow. I was very impressed with his auto control, its a first for him. Second, even if he runs fast, the back leg seem to follow much better, so it doesnt drop like before. I was really happy and this was very positive. His body seem to adjust better and better and he's getting stronger, for sure! Don't know if is all from the physio or just time passing by. But I AM HAPPY!!!!
Thanks for the great update!

Yay for Novak!!! I'm betting it's a combination of the recovery time along with a big dose of rehab. Anyone who knows our story knows how important I feel that rehab is. Keep up the great work.
Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Oh wow, another victory! Yesterday, I tried to play ball in my backyard, so before, Novak would slide over to the ball, not really able to stop before and grab it on the ground. But now, he is able to control himself!!!!!!! So he did slide once, but every other time, he manage to slow down and grab the ball on the ground without being on the ground himself! Im so happy! Maybe, one day, he will be able to play frisbee again! We never know! LOL
BEST NEWS ALL DAY!!!! 🙂 🙂 🙂
I remember all too well the videos of him sliding, not avle go stop and his back leg seemingly giving way.
You are doing a stellar job of sticking to the rehabilitation therapy!! 🙂 It's paying off big time!!!
This just makes me soooooo happy! 🙂 🙂 🙂 🙂 KEEP THESE VICTORIES COMING! 🙂
Love

Seriously, I can't believe how fast the changes are coming. I mean, physio rocks!!!!! And time...patience... I think it was hard on me cause I though that everything would be easy and fast with recovery, but no, it take time and nothing can change that. Now, Im thinking to increase the difficulty level so he gain more muscle! LOL dont know if there is a limit a daog can do, but next apointment at the physio, I will definately ask about that.
Oh and I can't wait till summer is here and Novak can swim again, I think that it will add a lot to his physio. I remember when he had his knee fracture, swimming help him so much, in the summer, he was able to run and play frisbee, the muscle was bigger, and then, in winter, it was more difficult.
Yep, physio and YOU rock! I'm so glad that this is all working out and now you see that the sky's the limit. Here's to a stronger Novak and many great swimming days ahead.
