My Great Dane Rossi had a hind leg amputated in December last year due to cancer. He has made the transition to life on 3 legs brilliantly and right from day one he has just got up and go on with life. However we have a slight challenge approaching. He has just been diagnosed with Glaucoma, it is only in the one eye at this stage (same side as his stump) and we are working with an Ophthalmologist to try to slow down the progression but the reality is he will lose sight in the one eye and possibly both. Has anyone else had experience with a tripawd with compromised vision?
Cheers,
Robin

Good to hear Rosie has been doing so well after his surgery! Such an inspiration for all dogs, but especially the larger pups!
I'm no techie at all! I never did a blog in my beloved Happy Hannah when she was in her earth clothes...now she's at the Bridge. Who knows,I may still do one one day!
I know the admin guy gave you some links. There is also another pup who has now gone to the Bridge just the past year who, if I recall, lost his eyesight virtually over night. I can even "see"'pictures of him in my mind laying around in his yard thoroughly enjoying himself!'' Of course, the name escapes me.
I think the fact that the eyesight may deteriorate slowly will be more helpful in the long run
Here's a link that may be helpful too.

Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Don't forget Cora, who is not only a blind Tripawd, but has brain damage! Not sure where her last link is.
Kathi and the Turbotail April Angel...and the Labradork
Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!
UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!
