Just a short update on my Izzy ...

I am amazed by and grateful for sweet, silly girl. We are just shy of 2 months post amputation and I can say that MY GIRL IS BACK! In every way. She's even back to being "naughty" ... sneaking onto the couch while I'm at work (which she hasn't done in a LONG time), trying to steal food when I'm not looking and even attempting to "strong arm" her way into bed with us. I'll admit, the bed thing is 100% my fault. I let her get up with us one morning because it's a sure fire way to get her to stop bugging me to "get up, Mommmma. Nowwwwwwwww"

I created a monster.

A snuggle montser.

Because her Poppa is allergic to her, we can't really let her sleep on or in the bed, couch, etc. I did order her a new "pup cave" and can't wait to get a pic of her in it once it arrives. It looks kinda like a hamburger and kind of not but ... she will be SO HAPPYYYYY!

This weekend are celebrating her furless brother's 13th birthday and will also celebrate her 12th, even though both have actually already passed. I will try to get some photos to post here 🙂

Thank you again to everyone here. You are all so wonderful and patient. I don't know what I would've done without all of your advice and support.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife

Wonderful to hear from you and hear how great Izzy is doing!

I got a cave for quad-pug boy Obie because he likes small spaces and he is insecure.  He loved his cave until snotty older alpha be-atch Tani took it over.  Now that Tani has crossed the bridge (last February at almost 15 years old) Obie is using his cave again.

Can't wait for new Izzy pictures!

Sooo I'm totally late in posting these, but here are photos from Izzy's Pupday Pawwwty! She turned 12 last month and we had a little celebration for her. She is going strong, doing great and happy as a clam! She runs and rolls around and plays ... I just know she's enjoying every bit of every day. Yes, lots of naps - she's an old lady, after all - but that's to be expected. Still has one teeny tiny oozy spot on her scar but I'm pretty sure that's partially her fault (she will lick if not wearing a shirt) and it's also the "intersection" of the skin flaps.

Anyway, life is good and Izzy is joyful 🙂 Too bad her poppa isn't great at taking photos ... they're blurry but will have to do!

Happy 12 Izzy!

That looks like the same cave Obie has! Did she try it out?

Obie is using his now to hide from his new little sister.

I had to send it back, Karen. She wouldn't even try to get in it! (Pretty sure she didn't care anyway. The salmon "cake" was truly her only interest!

Happy belated Birthday, and hooray for life and Izzy getting back to normal!!  I almost take it as a good sign when I forget and neglect the tripods website for a couple of days... It means we're just back to our regular busy lives, right? 🙂

I'm so glad to hear that Izzy has adjusted well  and is taking advantage of playing and lots of napping.   Sometimes I  worry about Maggie napping and looking tired much of the time,  but she seems OK in general so I'm chalking it up to age and the extra effort of hopping around.  Old ladies, indeed!  When she's up and playful or heading out for a short walk she is still all smiles.

Hope you all enjoy the coming holidays and many more puppy celebrations!

Cindy and Maggie
