I was just wondering what you guys think. Chef is really happy when were home with him, i was just wondering if he is really doing fine or if he is happy that we didnt left him because he is really sick...
Normally in a dog pack the sick and weak dogs are left behind, i am just a bit scared that he is affraid that we will leave him and that this is the reason he is so happy.
Does this make any sence or am i just freaking out again??

Hi Jamilla. No, I don't think you're freaking out. I think Chef just loves to have his family around him! When my boy Max had his surgery, I slept on an air mattress on the ground with him for about 2 weeks. It was completely uncomfortable! But each night, Max would adjust himself so that he was up against me. Neither of us slept well because air mattresses can suck, but he was happy because his family was there.
I think you will be able to tell if Chef if not feeling well, as opposed to just happy you are there with him. Watch for all the normal things: is he eating/drinking well, eliminating regularly, doesn't seem overly lethargic? I'd say if you are able to check all those boxes, Chef is doing fine. There's a healing process that happens after such a major surgery. Some dogs are really quick, some are really slow, and others land right in the middle. As long as your boy is happy, I'd say he's healing just fine!
I think Maximutt is right. To have you around makes his heart sing, he is happy that the pack is together. Your happiness is so important in his recovery and health, it means so much, so just run with it.
If all of his other daily activities are normal, then smile and enjoy

Thanks guys! yes he eats and drinks really good. He even likes to get more if its up to him LOL
He wants to play and everything is going really good, problem is that he is going for the second chemo so that makes me think everything all over again.
And than you start to freak out... stupid me
This afternoon we met a tripawd friend from the neighbourhood a 3 legged, i think a sheppard mix, we made some pictures. The lady would send them to my email so as soon as they are in ill show you guys.
One thing i am worried about is his left knee, this knee suposed to have surgery. They did the right one before diagnosis cancer so we didnt had time to do the other one before. For now i dont think we should do it anyway too much stress and recovering for now.
No, Chef is not doing fine......he's doing GRRRRRRRRRRRREAT
If he didn't feel good, he would not "fake" exuberance at seeing you! He ma wag his tail a little' or give you a feeble kiss, but he wouldn't get all excited unless he felt up to it!
darn..copjter freeze up agin...later...
