Hello everyone,
I don't generally post, I am guilty of lurking. 9 yr old Baden who is 21 months post amputation.
Here in the northeast we have been covered with 2+ft of snow. Both dogs have made a path to walk in along the perimeter of the fence. A border collie thing? Obviously the path got buried in the snow. Aware of his surroundings Baden chose to let his lil brother forge ahead & make their trail. For the first few days Baden kept to the path. Baden has always loved the snow. We joke & say the world is Baden' s snowcone.
The snowfall we have received might be the largest amount the dogs have had to maneuver. Both dogs immediately adapted. Most likely better than some of their humans. For 5 days Baden hopped his way around the trail. Until yesterday that is. For some reason @ the far end of the yard Baden decided to venture back thru the yard. He hobbled the first couple of hops & then...He was successful hoping thru two feet of snow, as is it didn't exist. It was an amazing sight. I was able to see just how strong he still is. I wonder what made him go off the "beaten path". Two yrs ago I wouldn't have thought that would be possible again. I have come to realize that tripawds are gifted in one way or another. Their will & stamina blows me away & then I get "kisses"
