Otis had his first non-vet related outing today. After work, we drove to a local family owned pet store. It's the type of place people stop by mid-walk to buy a treat and hang out. He had a ball once he realized that he wasn't going to the vet, and it made me feel so good when the store owner and everyone who came in commented on how good he looked, how well he was getting around and how healthy he looked. Several comments as well about his harness, including the improvements to this newer version.
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
This just has me grinning ear to ear 🙂 I know it did you BOTH good to jave an outing that didn't involve a Vet!
I'm sure he's touching the lives of people he meets more than you know! I now he's touched ours
Hugs!
Sally and Alumni Happy Hannah and Merry Myrtle and Frankie too!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Oh now that is FANTASTIC! I can just imagine the joy and pride you felt at showing off your 3-legged hero. You're both great ambassadors for this community, thank you.

A dog just jumped up on my bed, and for the first time ever, I found myself feeling around in the dark for number of legs, rather than consistency of the coat, to determine who it was.😀
