We have Skppie now for a few weeks (front leg amputee) and are orientating for something to increase the mobility of Skippie (ways to take him with us on longer hikes together with our other dog). He is 16 kg and can be considered medium size I think.

I was thinking of something like the one below, because it is more flexible, less bulky and you can reach more places that with 4-wheel trolleys. Any experiences with it here?

Of course it also will probably take some training to get him used to sit in it....Since they are quite expensive and we have a young/wild dog, there is a risk he does not want to sit in it. So experiences on this are also welcome :).

Of course I checked that one big-blink. However, I like this 2 wheel idea and the possibility to pull it and have your hands free.

I don't have a dog but walk one. I like the looks of this trolley and it's likely easier to pull than push and like you say it's less bulky. I would have a couple of concerns: First, could your dog be up to something behind you that you can't see? Such as trying to get out. Or could another dog be approaching from behind and you don't see it. Second, it might not be hands free which you seem to want. Could you try one out first?

Perhaps the vendor could give you a couple of names of customers you could talk to before you buy it to ensure it meets your needs.

It sounds like Skippie still has a lot of spunk. Way to go!

I don't have any experience with carts (yet!) but that one looks awfully small for a dog Skippie's size. Do they come in different sizes? The basket sides are sort of low and I imagine Skippie would sit higher in it than the dog in the picture. It seems like that could lead to balancing issues and if it wobbles and he didn't feel secure in it then he would probably be inclined to jump out.

Thanks for the tips! There is the option to hire one, but that one is without a basket or anything....When we will use it, there will always be 2 of us, so one of us can walk behind the trolley.

I also asked the producers if they know people who use it for their dog....wating for their response.

The width is 56 cm (22.5") so should be ok I think. Maximum load is 40 kg. Only one size and with the bag attached to it, the effective width is 30 cm (12 inch). Seems small, but the collie below seems to fit.

Here is a picture with one with a bag and a collie on top (I think the dog is comparable in size). They call it a combi and is also suited for a small child. The wicker basket is custom.
