I had a lot of problems trying to keep Meg's foot/leg dry, before she lost it. She had an open wound, which was dressed and needed to be kept dry. She likes walking through/lying in puddles. Go figure...
I don't know if this will be useful/relevant for Eurydice or not, but by far the best solution we found after endless head-scratching experimentation, was waterproof walking socks. I bought several pairs of Sealskinz on Amazon, and these worked remarkably well. As I say, I don't know whether this would be suitable for Eurydice, and whether they would fit inside her booties, but just thought it was worth a mention.
All our best to you both,
Meg and Clare xx

Interesting! I had no idea these SEALSKINZ
existed but it appears they're only for humans? Did you get Meg baby-sized socks?By the way, have you ever seen this DIY trick for keeping paws dry?

Those are GREAT!
Every time I see her in a video I'm surprised again at how big she is. I think Elly could use one of her booties as a sleeping bag!
Eurydice took to to those booties so well. It reminds me of another Maggie story... when Mag turned one my mom got her some fleece booties, I'm not sure why except as a joke. The were cheap little things that would actually have been a disaster if we got them on her- it would be like trying to walk on ice. Anyway- Maggie did not like any type of clothing on her at all- she didn't even like her harness and always tried to get it off. As soon as I got one bootie on her foot and cinched the velcro tab she rolled over on her back and started flailing to get it off. I grabbed another foot but by the time I got the second one on she had got the first one off, we tried for a few minutes but I never got more that two on at a time...all the while laughing so hard I was crying!
This is not of course how you are supposed to introduce booties but Maggie seemed to think it was a grand game. After I gave up trying to put them on her I velcroed them all together and tossed them at Mag and she took off with it and zoomed around the house for a bit.
So glad you found a solution!

Yes, they're only for humans. I bought the smallest (adult) size and cut them down then used vetwrap to secure them around Meg's leg. The length of what was supposed to be the foot was more or less the length of Meg's leg, and I'd tuck the top over the top of the cuff of her dogleggs. Not perfect by any means, but by far the best solution I found for Meg and her particular circumstances. I tried the IV bag, and also these cast protectors they do for babies who've broken their arms so you can bath them, and various off the peg 'dog' solutions. The problem with most of them was that they were inclined to nick and tear or just wear through after not very long attached to Meg (which is understandable). The socks are also really thick and cushioned and it didn't seem to bother her at all to walk in them. Plus they are properly, properly waterproof. I didn't quite believe it until I saw her literally paddling in them and her foot, leg and dressing still remained dry.
I've just uploaded this video so you can (sort of) see the contraption in action. Not particularly elegant but, for Meg, extremely effective. It may also give you some idea of just how resilient her leg covering needed to be... We don't get snow all that often here, and its arrival is always cause for a Mega Celebration

Hi Clare and Meg
That is a VERY useful suggestion (never heard of it before) and as they are made for humans I probably will find some big enough for her YAYYYYYY !!!!
Love Meg's video, how cute can a dog be ??????? Well, THAT cute !
Sending you and Meg hugs and cuddles

Hi Karen and puggies
Yes, I suppose Elly could use her booties as a sleeping bag
Such a funny story, your Maggie sure knew what she liked and didn't like.
Of course, playing with Mom was also great fun!

Hi Kerren
No, they are not heavy, I think she just hits the ground harder as her feet are all comfy inside the padded area.
And as the soles provide a great grip she "runs" confidently, just like before.
My heart is overjoyed hearing that galloping sound again!
Lots of love going your way and cuddles to your gorgeous kitties

Meg sure looked like she enjoyed the snow! My dogs all love it too.
Eurydice always cracks me up! Murphy's ears flop like that, but those lips, too! lol She does have a perfect Tripawd gallop, though.
