Hi Donna
This seamstress lady works with all sorts of materials and the physio said if she takes up the challenge she will produce something really tailored to Eurydice's paw, she pointed out it may not be as beautiful as commercially made booties but it will be efficient and truly custom made.
Obviously I could not give a hoot about looks, I just want it to work.
I only approached ortophedic shoes companies out of desperation ... and in any case there was no reply at all to my email.
Maybe they commented at the office "there is this crazy woman who wants some shoes made for her three legged great dane ..."
If we weren't all in this crazy journey we would probably only see the funny side of requests like these
Thank you so much for your suggestion Donna, if this lady can't help me my next step will be to try and contact crafts people who work with leather, we'll see ...
Sending you a big kiss and cuddles to your babies

I am in London, where are you, so we don't call each other in the middle of the night?
Lots of love and ear scratches to Patchy

Glad you two are making the connection!
Summer is in Arizona but I'm never quite sure what time it is there, it's a state that does it's own time zone thing during half the year 🙂

Hi everybody
Eurydice has her new booties HURRAHHHHHHHH and she LOVES LOVES LOVES them !!!!
It changed her life, before she hopped and when walking on hard surfaces she would hop slower and had a lot of rests which I put down to her 3 legged situation plus her size/weight.
Well, wrong answer !
I now realise she must have been in pain all these months.
Since amputation she has developed a lot of sores and callous areas in her paws especially on her back feet as they are now placed in an unnatural way whilst hopping, to compensate for the missing leg.
She never showed me any signs of pain so I had no idea.
Eurydice took to the boots instantly as you will see in her first video (sorry it is a bit long) albeit with the incentive of yummy cookies from Julia
She told me to do the same the next day but you know what ?
I put them on, she jumped in the car and galloped away the minute we were out as you will see in videos 2 and 3 (very short videos)
She has not galloped like that since surgery, my heart was about to explode with joy just looking at her
From then on, every time I tell her we are going out she lies down on the carpet and stretches her legs towards me to get the booties on, it is hilarious !
I've got other videos showing how to get booties on and also videos showing how they are made.
If any of you want to get more info please let me know, I am very happy to pass on Julia's contact or answer any queries, if I can.
So now tcha tchaaaaaaaam !!!!
On to the videos !
Sending all much love and cuddles to your baby girls and boys

What great videos! So glad that she loves them!
Otis - 106 pound lab/Dane mix, lost his right front leg to osteosarcoma on Febuary 9, 2016. Four rounds of carboplatin completed in April, 2016. Lung mets August 25, 2016. Said goodbye too soon on September 4, 2016. Lost his adopted sister, Tess, suddenly on October 9, 2016. likely due to hemangiosarcoma.
Wherever they are, they are together.
She's so gorgeous! And I love the description of her lying down stretching out her legs to have her booties put on!
Ruby, Staffy, born June 2022, became a Tripawd, November 2023, adopted January 2024.
Also Angel Tripawd Meg (aka The Megastar), who died in April 2023, aged 14, after seven glorious years on three, and Angel Staffies Elsie Pie and Bille. In the pawprints of giants...
This is GLORIOUS! What a wonderful update on a tricky problem. She look so so hoppy. Those boots are definitely made for walkin'.
As I mentioned we'll absolutely be sharing these in the Tripawds Gear blog soon. Can't wait to give some props to her boots designer.

Wow... she looks great!!! Love seeing her run to you! Great job!
Shelby Lynne; Jack Russell/Shiba Inu mix. Proud member of the April Angels of 2014.
October 15, 2000 to April 8, 2014
Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Thank you everybody ❤️
It was really funny seeing her hop like a bunny during the first few days 🐰 she doesn't do that so much now it's more about taking off, full speed ahead heeeeah 💨💨💨💨👢👢🐴
The only downside up to now is that the inside of the booties gets wet if she is walking in the park etc for longish periods 🌧☔️ I am seeing Julia at the end of this week and will address this and then will update info here.
Thank you again for your lovely words 💓
Sending you all much love and woof woofs from the racing horse 🏇❤️
