It's 7 weeks tomorrow since Chuy's FHO surgery. The vet said it may take him longer than the usual 8 weeks to recover from this being a tripawd and all. Well, Chuy being the stubborn, determined, prove to everyone he can do it kind of dog he is, has decided enough is enough! Here's a couple of short videos of him playing with his sister Gretchen in the backyard, after dinner in the 95 degree heat. He doesn't play for long, but hey, it's hot out!

Oh, I love the 'bunny hop'.
So glad Chuy is doing well!

Great videos Chuy! You look mahvelous, congratulations! I wouldn't play very long in that kind of heat either. Tell your Mom thanks for the vids. We love you!

Chuy went to PT today, we tried a couple of things with him one was the underwater treadmill
The other was just regular swimming without his float coat but he did have his ruffwear harness on just in case Jeff needed to grab him in a hurry! Chuy loves to just take off on Jeff.
Jeff says he does best with building stamina when he's in the pool, so that's what we are going to work on from now on. There is no clicking in either hip or in his knees anymore! The muscle is building up well now.

Wow Chuy, we got tired just watching you! What a workout! You did so great though, and we are so happy that your hip and knees are healed up. Yeah!!!
Keep on keepin' on with the therapy, you're awesome.
Meanwhile, here's the blog post your Mom wrote for us. Thank you so much Eleanor! Hope you like it.

Thank you so much! This is so cool that you have done that. I e-mailed the PT a link to the blog and then posted bulletins on Chuy and Gretchen's myspace pages with the link to it. Can't tell Mom is excited and proud can you?

Yesterday was Chuy's second recheck at the vet's for the FHO. Dr. Jaffe gave him the all clear! He's good to go and do whatever he wants. We don't have to go back unless he develops a problem. WooHoo! We were also told that the physical therapy will be left up to us as to how much longer he will go. We'll do what is best for Chuy and go with what the therapist recommends. It will probably be at least 3-4 more sessions. He sees the therapist tomorrow, (wish I could go in the pool with him, it's 113 here!).
Because he has been so brave and strong and taught us so much, he also got a trip to Petsmart. He picked out a screaming Gorilla toy as his reward. (annoying but cute)
He's laying on daddy's lap in the recliner right now, yesterday he was jumping up on the couch and then jumping off. To think that we were so discouraged at the start of all this. Boy, did he make a comeback! He's back to being the Chuy we first met.

I love your wonderful update. Chuy is a spunky little thing. He can teach us all a thing or two about persistence.
