Amazing! It seems like everyday Baden makes improvements. We have resumed our modified normal activities. A game of frisbee is now played slow n low. His game of "soccer" with a plastic bowl had to be modified & he made those adjustments using nothing but he used his problem solving skills. He is slowly building his endurance while walking. The strength in his hind legs has significantly improved. He is now able to hold himself up on his back legs without shakiness or weakness. I have added rubber mats to the kitchen floor for traction . They may not be pretty but the certainly keep Baden from sliding out the door. It's been so awesome to watch him relearn. I think that aside from the rapid healing the thing that wow's us has been his determination to reteach himself in all his routines. With winter coming I am trying to find a solution for the winter ice. I am sure Baden will figure something out

That's wonderful!
You're so observant in noticing how Baden is moving on with life. Isn't it amazing how quickly dogs proceed with life as normal? It takes humans so much longer. I'm sure you have already learned so much from Baden, and there's so many more great times to come.
I would love to see a photo of that soccer game!

Jackie, Angel Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Glad to hear Baden is adapting. Dogs are amazing at adapting to their new limitations and then just getting on with the job of living!
Karen and Spirit Magnum
Magnum: 30th May 2002 to 5th May 2012. Lost her back left leg to osteosarcoma on 5th Sep 2011. Lung mets found on 20th Mar 2012 but it was bone mets in the hip that ended her brave battle. Magnum's motto - "Dream as if you'll live for ever, live as if you'll die today" (James Dean). Loyal, loving, courageous and spirited to the end. My beloved heart dog, see her memoirs from Rainbow Bridge ...... http://princess.....pawds.com/
I love reading about how the new tripawds transition to their new life. That is just so wonderful.
Happy Ampuversary Baden! Keep living the good life.

We joke & say we have 1 dog & Baden. Laying down & laziness are not in a Border Collie vocabulary. He had to make a quick adjustment or else his "herd" (us) might get out of sight. The neatest thing is when we take him out. People see his markings well before they realize he only has 3 legs. Their reactions always make me. He just hops along loving life.
