Hi,

Chester has overdone it. Played hard and walked for a few hours with a young pup on Halloween and now is limping with his only remaining right rear leg. Before I get all worked up and start with the tests, our vet recommended rest (we are trying as hard as we can--he has basically rested all but 2 months with the year plus he has lived with us) and Gabapentin as well as joint supplements.

  1. Anyone have any recommended joint supplements? He is 29lbs and a 7 year old Boston Terrier.
  2. Anyone experience set backs like this after amp? He wasn't using his front leg for years we imagine so we felt no PT was ok and he seemed to be doing ok. He is high energy and we just want him ton walk and run and play agin, which is why we amp'd vs not (undiagnosed shoulder injury that post op was diagnosed as severe scar tissue).
  3. Anyone recommend other treatments to help recovery?
  4. Just looking for support. We spent $10,000 already in undiagnosed treatment and the amp so we can't spend much more but need to do what we can to help him play and be the dog he can be!

Also... Recommended booties for small guys?

thanks!

Search the Tripawds Nutrition blog for many reviews and recommendations. Wyatt loves his GlycoFlex, and we believe it helps!

One visit with a certified rehab vet/tech can work wonders! Take advantage of the Maggie Moo Fund for Tripawd Rehab! Or, download Loving Life On Three Legs for lots of professional tips and DIY exercises, stretching, massage and more.

Foe indoor or outdoor use? Consider trying Power Paws traction socks first, or PAWz booties. If he tolerates those, and you need more permanent all purpose boots, check out the Ruffwear boots.
