Long overdue update! Hooch will be 10 weeks post amp tomorrow and is doing well. 😃 We've been very busy spending time in the yard, soaking up the sun and getting ready for the camping season. Hooch loves camping! Can't wait to go!

3-4 weeks post amp, he seemed depressed. Played with his toys a bit, but kept trying to use his missing limb to squeak them, cause  that's what he's always done. He seemed to just get frustrated and would give up.  I just keep positive with him, and it's getting better each day.

One thing that absolutely made my day.. He has always played with a 5 gallon pail. Yep, a 5 gallon pail. And I thought forsure he wouldn't be able anymore being a front leg amp, 70 so #'s, and 10 years old. But boy did he prove me wrong!! I have a video, but not sure how to add it. I use my phone or tablet to visit this website. And I'm not very computer smart. I would like to share it, as it may brighten up someone's day that's facing the decision of amputation. Will keep trying.

One more little story. About a week ago, in the night, we had a severe thunderstorm. Hooch is terrified of thunder. One big bang woke me up and I heard hooch get up and head out to the kitchen. I got up to check on him, and within the 2 minutes it took for me to get up after him. I couldn't find him!! Frantic, I headed to the stairs that we have a baby gate on. And there he was almost all the way down!! Talk about determination! He's only done the 3 stairs to go outside, and that's with my help. So those 3, plus 12 or so more! He was so scared, and doing like he used to I guess, was headed to hide in the basement. How the baby gate was moved is still a mystery. And thank god he didn't fall down! Now to get him back up the wooden slippery stairs... I tried, I couldn't. Had to wake up my fiancé to carry him. All 70lbs.

Hooch inspires and amazes me everyday, and I am so very proud of him! ❤️ Would I do amputation again? Absolutely!! For every extra day that I'm able to have with him..

So thankful to this site, for supporting all my decisions! And for continuing to guide us through every step of the way.

So awesome. I have such a fear of stairs with Sadie, so I'm amazed he tackled them without issue like that.

Sally you have come SO far! I love these instructions, they're perfect! Thank you so much.

Yes Lynn, it's that easy. As long as you upload it to YouTube it's the easiest way to go. You can do it right from your phone. Let me know if you would like assistance.

As for Hooch's pawgress.... clapThis is really fantastic, we are thrilled and beyond elated that things are going so well. You have such a great attitude, it's contagious and Hooch is following your lead. Bravo Tripawd Superstars! superstar
