Hi - glad to say Panchito is still going strong 5 weeks post op. We now know his cancer is histiocytic sarcoma but we don't know if it has spread. When he was xrayed pre-op there were no obvious signs in his lungs or liver. We are going the homeopathic route and I have now got him on the anti cancer diet plus K9 immunity chews, turmeric, milk thistle and probiotics. I am currently giving him 80mg of turmeric in a capsule with added artichoke leaf but I'm really not sure if my dosage is correct. Pancho is about 25lb in body weight. Plus has anyone used apocaps ? They are very expensive from the UK but obviously if they help I will get them immediately! Love your advice tripawds people! So many thanks ! Xxxxxxx

Yay Panchito!

OK, I don't know the right dosage of turmeric for a dog and despite searching through the Dog Cancer Survival Guide, which mentions turmeric because of it's beneficial properties, it doesn't give it. I think you would have to take it in such large doses to make it absorb into the system that it's not effective that way, which is why it's in Apocaps . We have some info about Apocaps in our Nutrition blog.

WOWWEEE Nixon! You are so smart, I forgot all about that one! Thank you!

if you’re giving it alone he recommends giving a large dog about 2 grams of curcumin, twice daily.
