I'm so glad you updated, thanks. If you get a chance to talk to Bob this afternoon let us know OK?
Bob did call about mid-morning and said she had managed to jump into our bed and take his pillow - looking at him with that self-satisfied look. There won't be any update until I get home. She sleeps all day while I'm gone. No mistaking who she belongs to!
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
The November Five - Spirits Max, Cherry, Tika, Trouble & Nova. 11/2008 - 3/2013 An era ends as Queen Nova crossed the Bridge.
Great news to hear that Trouble is picking up quickly We are sending lots of prayers and thoughts your way!
Carol and Titus
"A dog is the only thing in the world that loves you more than he loves himself."
OSA in left hind leg–30 August 2008. Ampuversary–4 October 2008.
Titus earned his wings on 15th July 2010.
He is dearly missed and our love lives on.
Don't scare me like that, woman!
It reminds of...
Have you ever water skiiing? Even as a kid, we'd ski and ski and our legs wouldn't work afterwards. We couldn't get ourselves in the boat!
Maybe that is what she is feeling...water skiing legs!
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Early Evening Update
I got home about 3:30. She got up to greet me, but was very tentative - Duke was being his rambunctious self and she was afraid he would bump into her. I got him sectioned off away from her and gave her an appropriate greeting.
We then took turns going out. Duke first while she rested in the kitchen. I mixed up her food and she ate - rested just a few minutes and was ready to go out. Didn't stay out very long, but did bask in the hot Texas sun for a few minutes. She is now resting in the hallway waiting for me to start dinner (she'll move to the kitchen for that)!
Going to give her another Rimadyl in just a bit. Hopefully the worst is over.
Water ski legs may be a good description, because she really wasn't acting like she had any pain, just no strength.
I really don't know how many of these little scares my heart will take. This is three in just a short period of time - it just sucks to get old (her and me)!

Thanks for the update. Best wishes for Trouble's continued strength. As for water skiing, we can only recommend letting go of the rope immediately when you fall!

No kidding about the little scares - it is hard on the heart. Hoping that the worst is over - taking pillows is always a good sign and very cute too! Trouble and Mackenzie must come from the same gene - when I'm gone Mackenzie will sleep and not move from her spot until I get home - I guess we do know who our dogs belong to!
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Oh Trouble! We're so glad you're feeling better. Those spa days can take their toll on us, can't they? Anything for beauty... or to get out of it. My mom and Zuzu and I will keep all paws and fingers crossed that it was just the spa that made you weak, and that you're all better now!
Hugs,
Holly Jolly
Holly joined the world of tripawds on 12/29/2009. She has a big little sister, Zuzu, who idolizes Holly and tries to make all of her toys into tripawds in Holly's honor. And she's enjoying life one hop at a time!

Alright Trouble !!!
Shanna, my parents have a 7yr black standard poodle and when he has his spa day, he comes home absolutely EXHAUSTED !
And, he's a 4 legger who's high high high energy (usually)
Most times he skips his lunch, and just collapses for the entire evening! (on his own chair in the living room , I might add).
It's so cute..........my folks are going to both be 85 this year and this boy has them wrapped around his lil paw !
Big time hugs out to Trouble !!!
Don't go scaring your folks that way !
hugs,
Denise

Whoa Trouble!
Mom's heart just sank when she saw your post, we are so glad that things are looking better for my fellow November Five Tripawd Warrior. The last time I had a spa day I was exhausted too, so I wouldn't be surprised if that had something to do with it. That is so pawesome you have lost 5 pounds. Keep it up. Having a little extra "junk in the trunk" can make it tough to get up, just look at my sister Emmy! ha ha... I think she loves food more than you do!
Rest up, and do what you can to stop scaring your Mom (and my Mom) so much! We all want you healthy and hoppy!

Hi Shana,
I guess there are some advantages to coming in late- I only had to be scared for a couple of min. until I got to the better updates!!
I'm glad Trouble seems to be doing better this afternoon.
And yea, getting old is not for wimps!! You are due for some smooth sailing after the last few weeks.
Karen and the pug girls
I'm with KAREN!! I just got on here (the twins are exhausting and my days are food potty food pottyoutsiide play separate potty potty potty crate potty people coming over....holy cow, eating into computer time) and almost had the heart attack with you...Thank goodness things are looking up....I never thought about the spa thing...Magic's spa consisted of laying down and letting Barbara do all the work!! and it was dry shampoo when needed in spots....so poor Trouble really had an exhausting day...oh Shanna...sending you a huge hug
