I just read another sad story on Facebook today. Another beloved dog has died from eating tainted treats from China. Not sure if this has been addressed on here or not. One of the sources of the poison is something called.propylene Glycol. It is added to a lot of treats. It is basically an antifreeze. I found out that I am very allergic to this stuff when using a cream that contained it. If it is used in creams, why in the heck are they putting it in our dog treats? If it does to a dogs belly what it did to my skin, oh my! The burning was horrendous.mI am usually Very careful when buying food and treats, as Chandler is so food sensitive. After reading this, I took a second look at my treat supply. There was one made in China. Ouch!!!! I had given tem a few too.Now all it had in it was sweet potatoes and Carrageen, but..... Went to the trash. Please check your treats! read the ingredients. I am thinking of starting to make my own. I know a lot of you do that here. Buy only food and treats made in the USA. Nothing from China. Lori and Ty
TY GUY, Best Black Lab ever! Diagnosed and had amp in January, 2014. Kicked MRSA's butt. Earned his angel wings on April 16, 2014. Run Free my boy and don't forget a shoe. Ty is a proud member of the " April Angels". Ty sent us Daryl, a Tripawd rescue in Sept. of 2016. Daryl is 5 +or -. We are also Pawrents to Chandler, a Border Collie mix who is 15 and 1/2, Lucy, a Corgi who is 7, 2 minis, 2 horses, and a feisty cat named Zoe. Zoe had a non skeletal Osteosarcoma removed in July 2015. No Chemo, she was at least 16. She is going strong although she is now completely blind. She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
Thanks for the reminder Lori. Never ever ever feed anything from China to our animals, or us! So scary.

It is downright scary ever since pets started dying from those chinese chicken jerky treats (which Daisy absolutely loved btw). I also started really paying attention to where treats are made and only buy made in USA. You gotta watch too because sometimes they say "distributed" in the USA in big print and in really teeny tiny print say made in China.
I did start dehydrating chicken which works pretty well but haven't ventured into making other types of treats. I just make sure to read the packages and ingredients. I will go home and make sure none of them have propylene glycol in them.

Thanks for the reminder... I've gotten pretty good at looking at labels as to where the products are made but not the ingredients. Will do that now. We don't have a lot of treats in our house in general but I'll be extra vigilant!
Scary and sad!!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Thanks for sharing Lori.......I have personally been very diligent about any foods, treats, etc. since the big dog food recalls several years ago while working at my veterinary clinic. I saw many dogs and a few cats come in with horrible illness from these many recalled tainted foods, from the tainted wheat gluten product from China. We had about 3 or 4 dogs and 1 cat die from this, and many more with long lasting illness and continuing problems, especially kidney ailments. My own friend and neighbor ultimately lost her sweet beagle mix to this recall as well, just took about 6-8 months from fighting kidney failure as a result.
There are many, many available and viable American made treats that are easy to find in most stores now, because of all this China crap causing death here with our pets. Some stores are actually NOT purchasing any "death treats" from China any longer, and just taking them off the shelves. I've been checking shelves in every store I go to, and it is hard to find any treats from China now, thankfully. I just wonder how many pets had to become sick, with many dying, before store got smart about this.
Love to all,
Bonnie and Angel Polly
P.S. I have discovered through many emails to dog and cat food companies, that vitamin C still is coming from China, and is in people foods and vitamins, because they said this is the "only place producing it", whatever the heck that mean.......
I only buy treats from here in the USA but Marla is right just because its distributed doesn't mean made. All my chicken treats come from my friend who dehydrates (she has her own business Dogpacktreat.com) and they are all natural.
I won't even buy treats made in Mexico etc because I have no clue how those were made.
Thanks Lori a good reminder . Going to check what treats I do have.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
Yeah, Lucy loves Dentasticks, but I cannot find anyplace on package where they are made. So she will have to live without them. Sometimes, their well being has to come before their happiness.stinky poo rolls and all, I love the little sausage.
