Your herbalist will be able to tell you this information.

Ah. But if he cannot give you the proper dosage recommendation for his own product, how does he even know it will be effective?

are there any experts on the forum that know about cbd thc etc.?   My research tells me that cbd oil made from cannibas helps with inflammation.. AND  cbd oil full extract oil that contains thc can help shrink or prevent cancer.. there are many fb pages on this topic.. One guy charges $200 for a consult then tells you where to buy the product.. Living in Ca, I have access to all the things needed,, just not sure what to use..  Even the herbal vets are not up to knowing all.. they are not allowed to discuss thc. which is .. the big help for cancer in this regimen...

Not an expert by any stretch of the imagination. I have read that THC alone is not good for pets. I was under that impression because it seemed to be across the board until I went to a business here in KY that grows plants and produces their own CBD oil for people and for pets. The owner there told me that a small amount of THC, trace amounts, actually compliment the CBD and enhance the healing qualities. I still believe too much can make them sick, but the combination that is found in the CBD oil in small amounts may be good. The name of the business is Bluegrass Hemp Oil. https://www.blu.....mpoil.com/

The owner of this business has a child that has severe epilepsy. Through learning she was able to produce a CBD oil that allowed her to take her son off of the drugs that can eventually cause major organ shut down. She was a wealth of knowledge when I spoke to her. I don't know if you can learn more through them but I found them very helpful.

Unfortunately on my own CBD journey for Mitchell I have had to hunt and peck for any and all information that I have learned. So many are just not forthcoming because there is still a foolish stigma attached to all of this. Mitchell is now taking 10mg twice a day with his meals and it really seems to help him feel better. He is approximately 65 pounds. He is more aware of his surroundings (he has been having cognitive difficulties) and more responsive. He is still having a hard time getting around but this seems to help make him more comfortable. Mitchell is old. He has been through 3 major surgeries, and we had problems after the first surgery for cruciate ligament repair. I really think something happened to him that time, but nobody would own up to anything. He has had problems with that leg ever since, and that is when he started to become incontinent. He just came back a different dog. We stopped using that veterinarian.

The last surgeries he did great with, and I was there for the procedures. He had a splenectomy and bladder stone removal. Our journey with Mitch has been to help give him quality of life for the time we have left with him. So it is not cancer that this is for, but quality of life and cognitive function.

I hope some of this helps you.

Jackie

We are interrupting this discussion with a regularly occurring public service announcement about medical cannabis for pets....

It is so important to keep in mind that 99.9% of the information out there on the web for pets and people is not backed by any kind of clinical research, only anecdotal.

Buyer beware: use discretion, never accept anything at face value (especially about the curing cancer claims) and please please please only administer under the guidance of a vet who is knowledgeable in this area. Also keep your veterinarian in the loop about whatever you are giving to your pets.

And now back to the discussion.... big-grin

Oh yes, jerry, so correct!! Probably the most important part of the discussion! Mitchell's current veterinarian, who performed the last surgeries phenomenally, is on board and we keep in touch. The product we have has been tested, and each lot is traceable with all test results. Sorted through a lot of shady characters before finally settling on a couple of different places to make purchases from that I was comfortable with. Please be careful, there are a lot of people out there right now looking to make a buck preying on people that are trying to do right by their pets. They don't care about our pets, all they want is money.

Sure, I purchased from the site I posted the link for, bluebird botanicals, and purity petibles. I get treats from purity petibles which Mitchell likes. Mitchell is like Mikey.. he hates everything so when I find something he likes I go with it 🙂  I have gotten cards and letters from the company thanking me for the purchases, all three have been great to deal with although the first 2 have great tracking for production.

Good luck!
