I’ve been Feeling 100% canned pumpkin for Simon soft stool when needed. Most sites sayv a pumpkin is good for dogs. The whole dog.com says it’s a definite no. I’m a bit confused.

Perhaps they mean canned pumpkin pie mix? We have never been told by a vet that pumpkin is bad. See:

Rocky's oncologist had me give Rocky some canned pumpkin when he had issues with diarrhea last summer. I don't remember exactly what I got, but it was something I picked up at the grocery store. I only gave it to him for a week or so before he started to have harder poops.

David and Rocky (and Baxter now too!)

Rocky had his right front leg amputated on Valentine's Day 2017 after being diagnosed with osteosarcoma.

He joined the September Saints on September 3, 2017.

He is the toughest, bravest, sweetest and best friend I'll ever know.

They seem to say different things in different places. Here are three links to articles from The Whole Dog Journal. Two recommend pumpkin, one says avoid. I think basically it depends on the view of the author of the article.
