I am happy to announce that Sparky is home. He is druggy and dopey, but he is hopping along fine and he seems relaxed. Panting a bit, occasionally, but I think the tramadol does that to him. When we got back from the vet, he came into the house, ran to his bowl and ate a huge meal. Then he went to sleep for about three hours. We have just come back in from a 'successful' 10 minute sniff outside.
Knock on wood, there will be no complications, and then he goes back to have the staples removed and to have his first chemo treatment in 10 days.
In the meantime, I am wondering if anyone has seen or received any advice from vets or scientists about Artemisinin that might be helpful in Sparky's situation. So much of what I read is aimed at really big, purebred dogs with osteosarcoma. Sparky is a little 30 pound Heinz 57 with histiocytic sarcoma. Talk about being special.
I am operating on information overload right now, and all I really want to do is lie on the couch and tickle Sparky's ears. He loves that. So if any of you can point me in the right direction insofar Artemisinin that might be helpful in Sparky's situation is concerned, I would appreciate your help.
Thanks
