Not sure if I am posting this in the right category, but I just read a post about Jerry's "St. Jerry of Tripawds" candle and was wondering if anyone knew of a place or way I could get a pawprint type of garden stepping stone that I could make while my Nova is still with me. I recall seeing something at a craft store once that was for making children's handprints, but it was pretty low-quality. Is there a product out there where I can take a mold of her pawprints now, then create a custom stone later with an inscription?

At our clinic we buy the white molding clay for pawprints which can be inscribed at the time the imprint is made then baked to preserve it. The clay print can then be painted or decorated afterwards. This isn't as durable as actual stone but is still a nice keepsake.

Our friends at Clay Paws seem to put a nice kit together.
My pawrents made a paw print of my paw long before I got sick. Little did they know how precious that print would become so many years later. They had a fun time trying to get my paw in the kit, but it was worth it to them!

Hi,
I picked up a clay kit a few weeks back and it's been sitting on my kitchen table... I've played with the clay, however, I can't get Buster to cooperate to get a paw impression. The goal was to get all three prints, but I am unable to get his remaining front paw. Just pushing his paw into it doesn't do it and he won't stand on it, since I can't get his remaining paw to put it in the clay since he only has one to balance himself on. If I can make a decent print it would make a nice keepsake? Any experienced paw print clay makers, please give some advice....

If you can get him to sit in a sternal position (on his chest) then you should be able to put his foot on the clay and gently put pressure over each toe and the central pad, which will make the imprint.

I saw online they have lots of garden stones etc...I googled pet urns or pet garden memorials. I know at Xmas time Christmas tree shop had kits to make dogprints for ornaments. What about a local pottery place? You know the kind where you paint your own? That way if the print doesn't come out good maybe you can do it over.
Hope Nova is doing ok.

I recalled the title of this topic and searched for it to update after just posting about this new line of unigue pet memorial lockets and vessel jewelry we discovered from Heartsmith in the Tripawds Gifts blog. But now that I read the thread, I see it is more about making paw impressions.
Have you considered using concrete? I doubt Nova would need more than one bag. 
You could create larger path stones by setting some square forms, or creating circles using bender board / garden edging. Mix concrete in a bucket and poor forms about 2-3 inches deep. Let set fairly frim before walking Nova across the drying stones. Once fully hardened you should be able to relocate the path stones if you didn't pour them in place.
You should also be able to find small 5 lb bags of concrete repair mix inside any decent hardware store or builder's supply. Milk cartons or gallon jugs might serve as decent forms for smaller stones. I might consider mixing some pea gravel in the bottom of forms if just using the repair mix, but I am no mason.
