I haven't meant to be ungracious, but I've been a little tongue-tied since Catie's death.
But it's time to say thank you.
For this site during the sixteen months of Catie's journey.
For the founders, Jim and Rene.
For all the beautiful Tripawds who have been given unique, loving, quirky, triumphant voices by their unique, loving, quirky, and triumphant guardians.
You are all amazing. Truly.
I have been repeatedly humbled by the support I have had here and your condolences comforted me more than I can say. Words can be so banal, really, and I'm having trouble finding the right ones to express my gratitude, so I'll keep it simple: Thank you.
Carmen
P.S. Riley wants to know if he can still come and play here.

Oh Carmen, we totally understand. It's good to hear that you found some comfort with the support of all of the other great pawrents here. It's good to hear from you.
Riley, if you don't come back we're going to send Wyatt Ray to go get you, so be warned! 😉
You are always a part of this family, never forget that.

Carmen,
Tripawds just wouldn't be the same without the Riley Files - promise that he'll stick around for awhile! We hope that Riley is doing ok - we think a lot about you and Riley and know how difficult this all must be. You are right, words can be so banal, and knowing how devastating this is, it's no wonder that you are having trouble finding the right words. Just know that we are here for you. Our heart goes out to you.
Sending lots of golden hugs to you,
Kami, Angel Mackenzie, Kobe and Scarlett
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
Hugs to you and Riley, Carmen...
This place we call "Tripawds.com" is the most wonderful place!!! And you'd better stick around!
Hugs to you...
Tracy & Maggie
Maggie was amputated for soft tissue sarcoma 10-20-09
Maggie lost her battle with kidney disease on 8-24-13
For all the times you have been there for us in our time of need, Carmen, there are no thank yous necessary.
Losing Catie has been such a great loss to everyone and to me personally. The thought of losing Riley AND Catie is devasting. The world seen through his eyes made my world so much brighter.
As someone once told me here when losing Comet, it's time to turn to everyone here to help heal. So, turn to us. You will heal easier. I may not have had an amputation or cancer and wasn't experienced in any of those like everyone, but I had a loss. I can say with experience that healing through our fellow tripawds helped me tremendously.
Catie is still here in spirit and would want you to laugh, love and find happiness again...just like the old days.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
As other said- we are family! And as members of this family we don't need a lot of words to understand each other (although we expect Riley to continue to dazzle us ). That is one of the most powerful aspects of this site- we all get it, we all feel it, we live it, we know it.
Take your time and come back when you are ready.
