I know Ruby wasn't a tripawd but I need to vent, my pain in unbearble I feel so sad, so empty inside, I have spent the last 11 years taking care of Ruby, I am just lost right now. I know you all will understand she wasn't just a dog, she isn't replaceable.
I am blessed to still have Tasha, I hope as I hug her and cry for Ruby that I am not scaring her. Tasha watches me I know she is trying to figure out whats wrong with me. Tasha gives me comfort but oh this pain....
Rest in Peace my sweet girl, Ruby.

Jo Ann, Tasha, and Spirit Ruby,
Let's make this very clear, Ruby IS part of this community and her passing is just as hard for me to read as any. She may have been a special needs companion, but she also helped you deal with Tasha's diagnosis. Please accept my deepest sympathy at this time.
Our family went from three to zero in less than two years, so I can appreciate just how devistated you are at this time. We lost our Allie (a Shetland Sheepdog) to cancer, on April 22, 2008 just seven months before Cherry's diagnosis. She was a great companion, but always wondered when Cherry was going back where she came so that Allie could once more be an "only Child." Of course, Cherry's journey has been well documented, but the third in our little pack was another Shetland Sheepdog name Coal. He joined our family when my mother-in-law passed away. I mention all this to help show you that I can relate to the pain you are going through. Each and every companion creates a very special place in our hearts, generates their own memories, and gives us the same pain at their loss.
You have a very special family to be dealing with both Ruby's special need and Tasha diagnosis at the same time. I fear that the pain you feel now is a given when you share the kind of love and life that you and Ruby shared. Please know that I am only a PM away if I can help in any way. Also, as you know from my previous postings, I like to remind at such times that you will never be totally without Ruby, for the gifts that she gave you will live with you forever. She will be missed by all this community. She did much to help you through your tough times.
All our thoughts and prayers,
Sprit Cherry's Dad
Jo Ann, We are so very sorry to hear of Ruby's passing. She may not have been a tripawd, but she'sl part of the Tripawd Family. It will be very difficult fopr you and Tasha for some time. When we lost Skyler, it broke our hearts to see Chloe walking around the house, crying and looking for Skyler. After a few weeks, she did finally adjust...and she figured out that now she gets all the attention...and all the toys. We're hugging your heart. Know that Ruby will be in your heart forever! Sending you lots of golden hugs!
Cathy/Jane/Spirit Skyler/Chloe
Ruby, we are so sad for you and your family. You lived a long, beautiful life but I know that doesn't make the pain of saying goodbye any easier. Not at all. Watch over your Mom and Tasha OK? They still need you, and always will.
Jo Ann, we are deeply sorry. Yes, we get it completely. The loss of a beloved companion is always such a heartache. Please know we are thinking of you at this time, and send lots of love. Give Tasha extra hugs from us OK?

Oh Jo Anne,
My heart just breaks for you right now. I'm so sorry for your loss. I can only imagine how painful this must be right now. Please know that we are thinking of you and we are here for you.
My deepest condolences.
Kami, Mackenzie and Kobe
My sweet golden Mackenzie. She became my angel on Dec 29, 2010 at the age of 8 1/2 although she was always my angel from the time we brought her home. She was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in Sept 2009 and officially became a tripawd (front leg) on Nov 5, 2009. She will be forever in my heart and now she's running free with all of our other tripawd heroes. I love you Mackenzie!
So sorry to hear about Ruby, but to think you gave her as life she probably wouldn't have had otherwise I hope might give you some comfort. I hope that being a part of this great family helps take away a little of that empty feeling, it takes a while but it does get better. Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
I am saddened by your loss. Living with one for 11 years and caring for them does indeed make them a member of the family. And I'm with Bob, Ruby is most definitely a member of the Tripawds extended family. I certainly include Duke as part of the Tripawd family even though he isn't a tripawd.
I hope the the many wornderful memories you have experienced over the past 11 years will ease your pain as you adapt to life with a spirit Ruby.
RIP sweet Ruby. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

I'm so, so sorry for your loss. I completely understand feeling lost. One of our dogs, Sandy, was a shelter rescue. We got her when she was about 4yrs old and she left us in 2008 at 16yrs old. You can't remember what your life was like before her, and here you are all of a sudden without her. The pain lessens eventually, but know that we are all here for you and Tasha too.
Hugs,
Lisa
Sadie is my 9yr old Rott/Shepherd mix. Diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her right scapula 1/28/10. Our brave girl had her amputation 2/13/10 and her last chemotherapy on 6/6/10. Unfortunately, a tumor appeared in her back right leg and on 10/7/2010 Sadie's earthly journey came to an end. On 10/24/2010 we adopted Ranger, a handsome Rott/Lab mix tripawd (got hit by a car) I think Sadie sent him to us.

Oh Jo Ann.
I am just so very sorry. I'm so very sorry we didn't know that she was sick. You sound so incredibly heartbroken and that truly brings tears to my eyes. It's so, so, so incredibly painful.
I think all of us can relate to the immense pain and our furbabies being our world. And I can relate to having a special needs baby - it's a connection that you can't almost explain.
Did you have time with her? Or was this sudden? If you can, tell us what happened.
Little Ruby is very much apart of this community! Please don't doubt that. If you grieve, we grieve.
You do know that I would never have found tripawds had it not been for my 4-legged baby dying suddenly and leaving Comet behind? I was in such pain. And for whatever reason, I googled, "3-legged dog". When I saw that Jerry was german shep mix, which is what my baby was that I just lost and my baby died suddenly without warning of cancer - I decided to hang out to help heal my broken heart. And all of you guys, including yourself helped me heal.
So, just know we are here for all fur babies and heartaches. We are here for you.
Hugs to you.
Comet - 1999 to 2011
She departed us unexpectedly January 23, 2011 at the age of 12 1/2.
She was born with a deformed front leg and a tripawd all of her life.
Jo Ann - I am so sorry to hear about Ruby's passing. I hope you find solace in the fact that you gave her a life and love she wouldn't have gotten with anyone else, and she knew it.
Our thoughts are with you.
Zack, King of Dogs, 1996 to 2010
Zack lived a full 14 years, even to the end.
The joy and memories he provided us will last a lifetime.
Surviving him is his sister, Izzy, a 12-year-old boxer mix quadpawd.
And the latest addition, Zula, an 11-month-old pit bull mix tripawd.
