As I mentioned on my blog, Gracie did not get the chance to try being a "tripawd" she just could not recover from the surgery last night. I know things happen for a reason and I am sure this was for the best. I can not believe the amount of support I have received already from this group. I just signed up last night as Gracie was having her surgery. So unfortunate I did not get the chance to tell a wonderful "tripawd" story.
Oh, no! I am so sorry for your loss 🙁 We will keep you in our thoughts and prayers.
Jenna & Spirit Chili Dawg
Diagnosed with OSA: 5/2/2011 Ampuversary: 5/11/2011 OSA returned in hip: 8/26/2011
Chili Dawg crossed the Rainbow Bridge on 8/30/2011 & is now pain free. He was my heart dog, and I miss him every day.
although we have had a few tripawd family members who didn't make it through surgery, it's just not something we prepare for - it's so raw and sad to think it could happen. our hearts go out to you during this sad, sad time. hopefully time will help replace the tears with memories of gracie's smiling face. love never ends.
charon & gayle

Oh Gracie's mom.............I have chills. Something happened today that, when I saw your title of your post (Sweet Gracie), it stopped me in my tracks. I think your girl might have used me to get a loving a message to you.
I had gone to pick up some dog treats for my furherd here.....there were some new, reasonably priced ones and they were called *Sweet Gracie's Treats*. I too had a Gracie.....a beautiful, blind golden retriever who I lost to cancer and of course, I had to buy them. But there was this strange feeling, for the lack of a better what to explain it, that there was more to this than just the name.
I hope it doesn't upset you but instead gives you some comfort that your girl is safe and sound at the Bridge, and amongst friends until you are reunited and never apart again.
And now I'm crying..........Godspeed to your sweet Gracie. Run fast, play hard. See you on the Other Side, little one.
I've been away from posting for a few days, so I haven't caught up with Gracie's story, but I want to tell you how sorry I am that you have suffered such a loss. Although we all know there is risk in surgery, it just always stuns me when those rare unfortunate circumstances occur.
I so hope your happy memories soon replace the sadness in your life today. Gracie will live in your heart forever.
RIP sweet Gracie. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.
Shanna & Spirit Trouble ~ Trouble gained her wings 3/16/2011, a 27 1/2 month cancer survivor, tail wagging. RIP sweetheart, you are my heart and soul. Run free at Rainbow Bridge.

I am so sorry to hear about Gracie, but you are a member of the family, so we all hurt and will help, no matter how long you have been here, Our thoughts are with you, Spirit Gus and Dan
My buddy Gus had a left front amputation on April 7, 2010 and lived a great life until July 26,2010
This is the most devastating kind of news, we can't believe it and are so, so sorry.
I can't imagine the pain you must be feeling, but please know that you are in our hearts and we are sending you lots of hugs and condolences.

I posted on your blog, but also wanted to send along some support over here. I hate that your sweet Gracie had to go this way. It's bad enough when we find out our sweet pups have cancer. That is already "not fair enough." I hope you can find some peace in knowing you were truly doing what was in her best interest. Try to focus on all the love she gave you and that you gave her rather than on the end.
Hope you are managing ok and that you will some day, sooner than you think, be able to remember her with more smiles than tears.
Run free, sweet Gracie!
Jackie, Abby's mom
Abby: Aug 1, 2009 – Jan 10, 2012. Our beautiful rescue pup lived LARGE with osteosarcoma for 15 months – half her way-too-short life. I think our "halflistic" approach (mixing traditional meds + supplements) helped her thrive. (PM me for details. I'm happy to help.) She had lung mets for over a year. They took her from us in the end, but they cannot take her spirit! She will live forever in our hearts. She loved the beach and giving kisses and going to In-N-Out for a Flying Dutchman. Tripawds blog, and a more detailed blog here. Please also check out my novel, What the Dog Ate. Now also in paperback! Purchase it at Amazon via Tripawds and help support Tripawds!
Oh my goodness, we are all so sorry for your loss of Sweet Gracie
Please know you made a wonderful decision for Gracie in trying to saver her life. God had other plans for her. She is now pain free, safe and running free with all of the tripawd babies whom have made the trip to the Bridge...
I will keep you in my prayers

TATE ~ Forever in our hearts.
I posted on your blog, as well, but I wanted to just say again we are so very sorry that we didn't get a chance to really know Gracie as a Tripawd. And we are so very heartbroken that you didn't get a chance to really say good-bye. She will be in your heart forever...
You are in our thoughts tonight.
