Many of you didn't know Trouble or Shanna. Today I found out Bob, Trouble's human dad passed away. He had many health issues and has fought a long battle of COPD for many years. He lost his battle today. May they all be healthy and happy now.
Bob & Shanna participated in many many dog transports for rescues. This is one of his final ones.
RIP Bob. May you be happy & healthy now.

Oh Michelle. I am so sorry to hear this. I know you actually got to meet Shanna and Bob and a lovely friendship was formed. And you remained a friend to Bob after Shanna headed to the Bridge to join Trouble and Duke, as tney waited for Bob.
Bob and Shanna were such kind Souls who loved their dogs so much. They fought ha4d for them to give them the best lives possible.
I hope you are avbe to find out how Emma is doing. Maybe they would send you some photos and some updates on her.

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!

Emmi will be going to a place at Texas A & M and will live her life there. Bob made sure she had a place and would be taken care of once he was gone. This is where she will be going. Supposedly they will come pick her up was the last I heard. I will have to ask his neighbor tomorrow as it's late tonight.

I just looked at all the pictures and the video. Thanks for the link. Im trying to have a good feeling about this place....not being particularly successdul though!
It breaks my heart that no one in the area...no friends...no family.... no one would take Emmi and give her a HOME. This center seems pretty clinical/kennelish to me. I guess the students are the ones for the most part taking care of medical "needs".and doing surgeries, etc.
So so sad all the way around. This is going to be so hard on her. She's lost so much i hope they at rhe very least take some of her things, or a shirt of Bob's,mor something of Shanna's Their sleeping quarters looked pretty sterile, so I don't know if she can have any personal items. If I recall, you said Emmi didn't "play well wirh others* (that's why you said I couldn't get her...more like shut me down hard!!!😆😅😂. And yes, , that was a good thing oh wise woman). It looks like they have three or four cages in the same room, so mot sure how she"ll handle that.
I do hope you are able to find out how we could get updates, etc. We ARE family. Maybe of they know she has FAMILY checking in on her happiness , she'll get more than just a pat on the head when running some test in her, or whatever they do with these dogs.
I kmow Bob checked this place out and paid HUGE, HUGE, HUGE dollars for this. I just know he tried so damn hard to find an alternative. I feel so badly for her...and for him. However, he was pleased with this place for Emmi and that's really all that matrers.
You hang in there kiddo. I know Shanna is soooooo gratedul for the support you gave Bob all during the year. Take comfort in knowing how much they both appreciated you..😙

I'm so sorry to hear this Michelle, it breaks our heart knowing that he and Shanna are gone. They were so great to their animals. And you were a great friend to them. Thank you for being there.
For anyone interested in learning more about Trouble, here is her story.
That's an interesting place that Bob picked out for Emmy. I've never heard of such a place, leave it to the Aggies to think of it.
Sally, please don't worry. I know your first impression is that it looks clinical and sterile, and perhaps the accommodations aren't as cozy as a family home. But first know that they are not lab animals. Also, when I think about all of the care and attention the animals must get from the Aggie vet students who live on site, I see this arrangement differently.
My guess is that those animals are getting a ton of attention from a variety of people, which offers more mental stimulation and engagement than they were probably previously experiencing. I've been to the A&M campus, met the docs and students and have no doubt that they are giving excellent care and companionship to the residents of the center.

Thanks Rene for putting our minds at ease. I do know Bob checked this out and felt it was best in the circumstances of not being able to find a great home for Emmi. I did talk to his neighbor who is handling things right now. Emmi is in boarding until Wednesday of this next week as that was the earliest that they place could come and meet with her. This is the vet that Emmi has been boarded at so they all know the circumstances and she is being really well taken care of.
I am sure Emmi will have a great home Sally. Bob told me that they have one or 2 people that take care of them specifically and look over needs etc. Bob & Shanna are greatly missed.
Thanks for taking time to read about Trouble. And funny thing is I came to the site and who should appear but Ms Trouble. I guess that is my sign that they are all together.

Yes Rene,our perceptive, tuned in Rene, thank you for being our"calming voice of reason". Guess I was wearing my heart on my sleeve a little too much and letting my imagination go negative as opppsed to all that is good about this.
And sweet Michelle, yes, as you said, Bob checked this place out thoroughly and knew it would be wonderful for Emmi.
And knowing Rene is familiar with A&M is also reassuring. And good point Rene (one of many!) that Emmi will be getting some good mental stimulation and be surrounded by some good energy. 😊😃 AND the students will give her one on one attention beyond the scope of just being her "veterinarian".
Michelle, thanks for staying in touch with the neighbor and for updating us. I kmow it's a sad task for you to be taking on, but I alao know Bob and Shanna are saying, "Thank you Michelle for following up on Bob's plan! It's reassuring AND kind!"

Today is a bitter sweet day. Jennifer, Bob's executor, just posted that Emmi went to her new home
❤️ She rolled around in the back of the van when it was time to go, and they came bearing gifts (that she was totally excited about!).
Be a good girl Emmi, you are sure loved!
She also said " A purple stuffy boy did her eyes light up! Emmi wasn't allowed stuffys"
I am glad Emmi will be safe and be well taken care of although I am crying it means it's so real now. 🙁

Awww...bittersweet indeed. Quite choked up too. Those sweet eyes of her say so much right now. So sad.
As Rend said, she'll be around some good energy now and will have lots of stimulation and care. She'll soon realize she safe and is " home".
Do you know where these pictures were raken? Just wondering if it was at the Vet where she was boarded or at her new home.

Awww. Those are great photos, almost like seeing a kid go off to kindergarten for the first time. Imagine how exciting and new life is for Emmi!
I know it's gotta be so emotional for you Michelle, you did so much to help in this situation. All roads led to this one that Bob wanted, and no doubt Shanna is pleased too. She now has a furever home and a whole new pack of people who will love and cherish her for the rest of her life. And spoil her rotten with stuffies too! Wouldn't that be a riot if it was indeed a little purple Barney demon? Lucky girl.

Sally that was at the vet clinic where she was temporarily after Bob passed. I know it just makes me cry. I know it is the place Bob picked and he was happy with it and I know in my heart Shanna is too. I just am sad that my friends both of them are gone. I know he was ready to go but it will be hard knowing that Emmi now has lost her family.
Trying to be happy for Emmi. I know she will do great.
