I'm so sorry to hear about Shooter. You're in my thoughts during this difficult time.
Kathy
Tasha was a German ShepherdBorder Collie mix who was diagnosed with OSA at age 8. On December 29, 2011 she had her front right leg amputated and received 4 rounds of chemo. Sadly and suddenly Tasha became sick and we discovered she had liver cancer that had spread to her lung. After almost 19 months, Tasha earned her wings on July 17, 2013. No regrets and never forgotten.
I'm so sorry about Shooter. I echo others who have said August has been a bad month. I'm glad it will soon be over. My heart goes out to you and yours. May you find comfort in the happy memories.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
Thank you so much to everyone for you kind and supportive thoughts both here and on Shooter's blog. We couldn't have made it through without our Tripawd family. Thank you Jim and Rene for having this place for all of us to go and thank you Jerry for allowing your memory to live on by helping others going down the same road. I have posted some pictures of Shooter's life on his blog. We are still having those moments when we realize he's not barking at us, no thump-thump-thump down the hallway, no growling at Frosty - just a lot of nevermores - and our hearts break again. Give all your dogs a hug from us and keep them close.
Love to all of you - Luanne, Gene, Rosie, Frosty, Papi and (most of all) Spirit Shooter

Spirit Shooter was a Miniature Australian Shepherd who was diagnosed with a MCT and had a LF amp 1/28/13 at 13-1/2 years old.
Shooter crossed the Bridge on 8/28/13, his 7 month ampuversary and two weeks from his 14th birthday.
Luanne, you are so sweet, thanks. I love those photos on his blog. You obviously have such a great, cohesive pack, nobody could ask for more. With that kind of bond, there's no doubt in my mind that Shooter will stay close to all of you for all time. As you grieve, I hope the memories of your good times will fill your heart and dry the tears.
Always remember you give all of your dogs a great life, and Shooter's life was especially amazing as a senior Tripawd. You took the chance on having more quality time, and Shooter showed that when older dogs have a cheerleader like you, life on three legs can be great. Thank you for being here to give hope to many but especially those folks with dogs who once would never have gotten more quality time with their pack. Thanks to you and Shooter, more people can see that the loss of a limb isn't always the end of the road for an older dog.
