Well, for once I'm glad I'm late to a post. I'm really glad that Shooter is OK. We often celebrate things around here that would seem odd to someone not on the cancer journey.
At one point Mag was losing weight and energy and of course I thought the worst. When the vet came back with test results I think I actually said " oh good, kidney failure"! As long as it is not the 'C'.
Karen
Yeah Karen....that is so spot on!! Liver? Kidney? Blind? Deaf? O big deal! It's all so relative isn't it.
Heather, you are so right, if something is going g to happen (real or naginery). It's right after the vet closes for the week end or after they close for a three day hodiday!!
And here Shooter's having a bad reaction t a drug and we are all YAY!. WAHOOOOOO ! YIPEEEEE ......He'll only be puking and miserable for just a couple of days!! Great news!!
Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
YESSSSSS!!!!!! Oh this is WONDERFUL! I'm going to change the title just so folks know.
Laugh at you? Oh my gosh NEVER. Everyone here knows what these ups and downs are like, you don't have to be embarrassed. We're just so glad this news is GOOD now (never thought I'd say "Yay for side effects!)

I'm allowed three a day and haven't used any for three days
Silly Hannah, you are "allowed" to use as many smileys as you like, without going overboard.
Here's an example of "going overboard", which may actually be appropriate for this particular post... (not really).
Thank you for your diligence and attention to detail in helping us keep the forums running smoothly!

I am in the same boat! I am glad to be late to (what is now) a party! Glad it is nothing serious <3

Hmmmm....I'm not sure if it's okay to say I'm so happy to hear Shooter has an infection, but: I'm happy Shooter has an infection!! Hopefully those anti-biotics will clear everything up right away. Glad to hear that's what it was. And don't worry about overreacting; it's what Tripawd pawrents do best!!
I'm glad I didn't even see this thread til now or I'd a been worrying right along with the rest of ya! I'm so, so happy it's something treatable. What a relief.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
Glad I didn't see this post earlier or I would have been crying. Thank goodness. Shooter don't scare us all like that
Hugs & speedy healing

Sweet! On the up and up, Shooter!
ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
One last update for the evening - Shooter is very alert, ate a good dinner and had enough energy to make sure no one else left behind any food. He still has some strength to regain and is a little wobbly (or he's been in my bottle of Pendleton). I think we shall sleep much better tonight.
Puppy kisses to all of you!
