Well Puppy lost his battle with cancer today. I really dont even know what to say except that he will will be missed dearly. The cancer reoccured in the prostate and various other places. A couple of weeks ago he started showing symptoms something was wrong again. We went to go see our wonderful vet and he put him on some prednisone. His last week was great, he seemed happy and pain free and was again enjoying his favorite past time (eating). But, last night he went down, we took him to the emergency vet this morning and the xrays told the tale. It was time, he went peacefully and pain free. I hope all of you are doing well, and for those who have lost their buddies...my deepest condolences.
Bless you for taking such good care of Puppy, for everything you did for him. Sounds like you had some pretty good times together with your little trooper.
And thank you for sharing your eleven year old puppy's story with everyone here. Please find some comfort knowing that by doing so, you are certain to help others with the same difficult decisions you faced. Peace.

What a beautiful dog~ Puppy was so blessed to live his life with you. You took such good care to keep him safe and happy and well fed. (I love that Puppy's favorite past time was eating!) I always think how our animals never miss a meal, never are cold or lonely or living in fear like so many strays have to live. You kept him comfortable and he knew how you loved him. I'm sure he is grateful. No more cancer or pain, just running and smiling and in good company with many who have crossed over already.
I remember thinking it's worth the pain and heartache to have loved so much...Thoughts and prayers for peace are with you as you grieve your loss.
