It has been quite some time since I have been on this sight.  I joined this sight around October 2012 when my parent's dog Phoenix was diagnosed with bone cancer.  My parent's amputated her left rear leg in September 2012.  Well today my dad called me to let me know they had to put Phoenix down.  Her legs were swollen and in pain, she was coughing, and the cancer had spread to her lungs.  It is so hard for me to write this, because I didn't even get to say good bye to her. My parents live an hour away from me, and I haven't been to their house since October (around Halloween), for a good reason (I was pregnant...my son was born on Thanksgiving day!).   The fact that I went at least 6 weeks without seeing Phoenix, which I never have done in the past, tears at my heart.  It hurts me that Phoenix never got to meet my son, too.  She would have loved him.  I am glad she made it through the summer and was able to swim in the pool at my parent's house.  Her favorite hobby was chasing tennis balls in the pool.  We always said the happiest day for Phoenix every year was the day we opened the pool and the saddest day was the day we closed the pool.

This sight brought me lots of comfort in the early days of Phoenix's cancer.  Thank you for all of the support.

R.I.P Phoenix.  Enjoy the big swimming pool and chasing all the tennis balls you've ever wanted to at the rainbow bridge. I am glad you will be able to watch over my son.  I love you Phoneix!!

Here is the last picture we will ever have of Phoenix.  Here trusty blanket was there to comfort her as she crossed the bridge.  The blanket was involved in many games of tug of war and had lots of cuddles.

Very sweet looking girl.  I am sorry for you and your parents' loss.  May sweet memories of her carry you through this time.

Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury.  Her amp was on 10/1/12.  She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera.  We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Thank you so much for taking the time to share this sad news with us, I know it's not easy. You and Phoenix obviously had a very special bond. I'm sorry that you didn't get to be with her, please don't beat yourself up over that. She was loved by your entire family, and you all gave her the best life any dog could ask for. Although she is not with you physically, her spirit will always be a part of your life and now your new son's as you teach him how to be the person that Phoenix showed you how to become.

My heart goes out to you, I'm so very sorry for your loss.

The bridge just became more beautiful with that pretty girls arrival!!  I bet you my Franklin just stopped in his tracks and said "Whoooowza!!  Who's the new girl in town??"  Phoenix kicked cancers ass for 15 months!!!!  How great was that!!!!  That WAS great!!!  She got another summer in the pool and many lazy days in the warm sunshine!

My Franklin was with us for 5 1/2 months after his amputation before it hit his lungs.  I wish he could have had one more summer lying on the deck in the sunshine....

Don't beat yourself up for not seeing her one more time... the last time you did see her she was feeling better.. and not as wheezy I am sure.  My Franklin was pretty wheezy with that stuff in his lungs the last few days... It wasn't fun.

Besides, she is always in your heart.  Nothing can take that away!!!

I wish you comfort at this time...  we all understand as many of us are there, have been there and will be there one day....

Christine..... with Franklin  in her heart♥

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012.  Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013.  Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack...   You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!

Run free, Phoenix. Swimming every day for as long as you want...how good is that?

Kathi and Murphy

Murphy is a five year old Lab/Chessie cross. He was hit by a car on 10/29/12 and became a Tripawd on 11/24/12. On 2/5/13, he had a total hip replacement on his remaining back leg. He has absolutely no idea that he has only three legs!

UPDATE: Murphy lived his life to the fullest, right up until an aggressive bone lesion took him across the Rainbow Bridge on April 9, 2015 and he gained his membership in the April Angels. Run free, my love. You deserve it!

I am so sorry for the loss of your adorable furbaby. Please know that you are in our thoughts.

Joan and Lily

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.

RIP Phoenix.  So sorry for your loss.

Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13.  Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14.  She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self.  Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14

The pain of her loss will pass, but the memories will always be there for you.  One day you will be walking with your child and see a dog playing and say 'That looks just like my Phoenix'.   And for a few moments she will be with you again, walking at your side.

Yes TJ, very nice.

Phoenix wouldn't have wanted any "good-byes" for she knows she is still with you and she knows, as others have said, yor bond can never be broken. This deep connection is so much more than we can comprehend in our "humanness", It IS eternal...infinite.

Phoenix was surrounded by love from the day she came into your lives and she exited this life surrounded by the same. She knew how very much you loved him.....and she knew you felt her deep love in return.

The hurt is so great right now, but the good memories will start to push the grief away, bit by bit. Phoenix would want you to remember all the nappy times...the swimming in the pool...chasing tennis balls......She left yoj with sooooooo many joyful memories.

No, Phoenix isn't interested in sayi g good-byes.....hpshe's just waiting to say hello again when you have that glorious moment where you suddenly recognize shei s still with you.

Surrounding you with Phoenix's eternal grace...and slobbery tennis balls!

Sally and Happy Hannah

Happy Hannah had a glorious additional bonus time of over one yr & two months after amp for osteo! She made me laugh everyday! Joined April's Angels after send off meal of steak, ice cream, M&Ms & deer poop!
