wow... pretty harsh isn't she.. you are probably saying as you read that title...
It's a horrible thought... and brings us to a stage in our life where we are devestated, beyond words explaining how much our heart hurts, and we know that day comes eventually as it is the ONLY fault of a dog.. their short life span.
But I found this video... and although it may seem harsh.. it's pretty damn good. It's something to live by.... and enjoy for those many years of wet nose kisses!
You all know me.. I have to share things that tug at the heart... make you smile through a tear.... I understand while you pause and go get that kleenex.. you just might need it... I did...

Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
CRIIIIIIIIIIISTINNNNNNNNEEEEEEE!!!! You out did yourself yet again!!!!
I was memorized the whole time! I'm not even sure I took a breath and I'm pretty sure my heart stood still as I was completely lost in the essence...the moment. This is just BEAUTIFUL!!
Every dog who graces us with their presence brings us so many soul's growth lessons through their love. I feel so in sync with this video...especially after Happy Hannah's transition...and have always adhered to his philosophy of letting dogs "be dogs". Actually, to a fault!.....in human terms...it may even be called "spoiling"
In fact, Merry Myrtle were just outside playing in the rain today.....it was our "time for play" outside and she, nor I let the rain cancel our special time! She came in the house fairly well drenched, muddy paws and a few smudges of deer poop on her lips....a clean house is not my priority....a happy well loved dog is!!! And yes, I did dry her off with a towel which she just loves! She's now curled up next to the woodstove dreaming about............wouldn't it be fun to know?!
I JUST LO V E THIS CHRISTINE, JUST LOVE IT!!!
Thank you Christine! You and Franklin are such a cornerstone of this community in so many ways!!
Love you forever!!

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Exactly.
Thanks for sharing!
Adelaide is a young tripawd Husky, from an injury. Her amp was on 10/1/12. She has 4 sisters, Aissa (a senior border collie/chow), Maggie May (a puppy Great Pyrenees), Mathilde and Morrigan and 1 baby brother, Bagheera. We are all watched over by our angel Brendol, who was dx with OSA 1/30/13, amp on 2/6/13, and left us on 8/20/13.

Christine, I think this is a video that needs re-posting every so often, it reminds us all of how to live our lives in the moment with our pups, and not think about the sometimes short time we have with them.....just go out and truly enjoy the time....
Love,
