Angel Porthos, Pyrenean Mastiff, 7 years old Os front right leg, DX 18 May 2012, Amputation 14 June 2012, Hip Dysplasia, Two TPLO surgeries. Is now somewhere over the rainbow, 21 November 2013.
I'm so, so sorry for the loss of your beautiful boy. RIP Chuck.
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
OMG. I just saw Erica's post on FB about Chuck. I'm stunned. I had to log on and see for myself. WHAT?! OMG, Lori, I'm in shock and just so sad. The lump in my throat. The tears. Oh, Lori. I'm so sorry. Chuck was a beauty and a loving son and brother. HUGS, Lori. My thoughts and heart are with you.

ACL tear in right hind leg 12/5/12 and scheduled ACL repair surgery 12/21/12. Pre-op xrays revealed osteosarcoma. Amputation 12/28/12. Chemo (carboplatin) started Jan 10, 2013 and ended on April 5, for a total of 5 doses. He handled carbo like a champ! No side effects. We started metronomic therapy at his third chemo and have been also doing some holistic treatments. He's a lively, playful 10 year old huskie-boarder collie and a very proud member of the Winter Warriors! Our love. Our funny little guy!
I am just sitting here in shock yet I think part of me expected to see this after your post earlier about Chuck's fracture. The reason I expected this was because we know how much you loved Chuck and did not want him to be in any pain. We do the most unselfish things for our fur babies, even when it causes us great pain. That is the ultimate gift of love. I can just imagine him running around the meadow with all our sweet fur kids. He will always be in your heart. Nothing can take that away. Ever!!! RIP Chuck.. You deserve it big guy..
Christine..... with Franklin in her heart <3
Franklin, he was the Happiest Dog on Three Legs! Diagnosed 09/26/2012 with Osteosarcoma, amputated 12/4/2012. Had a wonderful 5 1/2 months painfree until he ran for the Bridge on 5/15/2013. Always in my heart, and always a guardian angel of my pack... You can follow his Tripawd Adventures, before and after, in my blog, Frank'n'Farter!
I'm sorry Chuck's earthly journey has come to an end. You did everything, everything for your boy including this last unselfish gift. We know the pain of this day, this decision and the hole it leaves in your heart. But you know you did what was best for Chuck, and that knowledge will one day bring you peace.
For now I hope you let the Tripawds nation help carry your grief as we remember your inspirational warrior who was a giant in every respect.
Chuck will live on in your heart and so will always be by your side.

I am stunned with sadness. You gave him a great gift, a loving home and family, and then this unselfish gift at the end. My heart is hurting for you. I am so sorry.
You're in my thoughts today, Heather
Barret was diagnosed with Hemangiopericytoma May 16, 2013. Front left leg/scapula/pectoral muscle was amputated on June 11, 2013 and we've never looked back. Follow our story on http://barret.t.....pawds.com/ and read my column on That Pet Blog
Ty guys for absolutely Everthing. Last night was pretty Rough. Sorry it's taken till today to explain. We gota last minute appt for Chuck to be evaluated for amp. The Consensus was he was never going to do well as tri. We talked about splinting but in reality it was just keeping him in pain to wait for something worse to Happen. We just thought it was best to do it then. The vet even urged us to not bring him home. His brother coincidently had an appt the same time so his dad got to say goodbye too. It was all we could do for him. He went happy. we had a great day with him . We didn't spend it like it was our last because we didn't know.
It was hard waking up today not having anyone to pill. To slime me with good morning kisses. He went sooo peacefully. And I'm greatful for that.
sigh. One day it won't hurt so much. He fought so hard
I'm so sorry to hear this sad news about Chuck. I followed his story in the forums, and was obviously hoping for a better outcome. You were stuck between a rock and a hard place, and you did the right thing for your boy. You did the only thing you could for him, and it was done out of love. Sending hugs to you.
Wow. I'm still in shock. To go in there for an amp consult and then move 180 degrees in the other direction? Yikes. But it really sounds like there was going to be nothing more for Chuck than more pills, more pain, and so much stress on his part and yours. You saved him of a lot of pain. SO MUCH PAIN. You cared ultimately for him. He was a trooper and a lovebug. We miss him. We know you do, too. Sigh. Lori - I'm teary for you.

I am so very, very sorry-please know that your handsome Chuck will always be part of us. You have been such a wonderful mom, and I am so very sorry for your loss.

Our beautiful Lily was diagnosed with osteosarcoma in her front leg on 12/14/11 at age 8 and had amp on 12/16/11. She completed 5 rounds of carbo. She was so brave and kicked cancer's butt daily! She lived life fully for 4 years, 3 months, and 15 days after her amp. My angel is a warrior princess. I miss her so much.
