My Bailey had surgery 11-12-13. This board has been a tremendous support for me. She recovered quickly and handled Chemo light a champ. She had 4 treatments and only 2 left. She started having trouble walking last weekend and was dragging her bag foot. The cancer spread to her spine (as a met). Monday we had to say good-bye. We only had 4 months after surgery with her. We are heartbroken. I am glad we did everything we could, but we sure do miss her.
I am very sorry for your loss of sweet Bailey. I do understand how you are feeling....my precious Polly only made it for 4 months after amp as well. But I look at it, as at least having some great quality time with her, and hope that is how you will eventually feel. We never know how long or short we have with our beloved pets once they are diagnosed, but we surely try to make their time here as happy and special as we can.
May Happy memories start to ease your pain in the coming days, and weeks, but she will always be within your heart forever.
Love,
Bonnie & Angel Polly
Hugs to you. I'm so sorry for your loss. We said goodbye to Libby this week too. It's so very hard but we cherish the extra time we were given and I know you do too. Bonnie is right, we don't know how much time we have after diagnosis but we give it our all, right to the end.
Amy & Spirit Libby
Liberty (Libby) was diagnosed with OSA on 1-22-13. Right front amputation on 1-31-13. No IV Chemo. Metronomic Therapy started 2-19-13 along with supplements and some home cooking. Lungs clear until 1-06-14. She's still her happy, hoppy, bossy self. Living the dog life to the fullest and a proud Winter Warrior. :) RIP my Libby 4-21-03 to 3-19-14
Anita, my heart breaks for you and your pack, I'm so sad to hear this, I know how much this hurts and I'm so sorry. Cancer is so unpredictable. You did everything right, you did all you could. I hope that the time you did have after surgery had many beautiful moments to hold close in your heart.
May her spirit stay strong, and always be a part of your soul.
Bailey, may you return to your healthy, happy puppy days and play for all time with our angel heroes. You will always be loved and remembered.

Our story: Broke rear leg in June 2013 - non-conclusive results for cancer so leg was plated and pinned. Enlarged spleen in September 2013 and had it removed and was diagnosed with Hemangiosarcoma and started chemotherapy. Became a Tripawd January 8th, 2014 and definitive Hemangiosarcoma diagnosis. Three major surgeries in 7 months and Shelby took them all like a champ only to lose her battle to cancer in her brain. We had 8 amazing extra months together and no regrets. #shelbystrong #loveofmylife
Not at all what I was expecring...not alll...DAMN IT!! Your heart is shattered ito a million pieces and I am at a complete and total loss lf words......damn this disease...we hate it!! and those words are of no support toyou right now at all, but I'm just angry...so damn angry!!
Excuse my potty mouth, but this is very tame compared to what I was really thinking!
I do kow this with absolutel certainty, Bailey had more loving and spoiling during those four months than either of you dreamed possible! You DID give Bailey an unbelievable gift of quality time. A gift that, if you measured in Bailey's years (dog years), it was the equivalent of almost three years of jouful, pain free, tail wagging, tummy rubbing , treat giving time!!
Yes sweet Bailey, sweet, sweet Bailey, you will MEVER be forgotten here!! Your life mattered ro al of us! Your beautiful soul...and beautiful ictures...touched or hearts from your first post.
You gave Bailey the ultimate gift when she needed it most. You gave her a chance to enjoy life a little longer...which she thoroughly did...and you gave her the most selfless gift of love to help her cross over to the other sideof life.
We u derstand your pain like no others can. When you feel like it, please share more of your precius Bailey with us. She had to be THE most loving snuggle bug ever. She just has that"cuddle me" look about her.

She is now close to 20 and her hobbies are eating and sleeping in front of her personal heater.
I just now realized my typo "bag" foot should have read back foot. That is what happens when you type and try to read through the tears. The posts above have brought tears to my eyes. Thank you for the sympathy card Jerry and the rest of the group. More tears... but I do appreciate it.
You never have to worry about t typos around here.....I javen't been kicked off...yet!
Glad you were avle to check in just now. I know you are still so very raw withyour pain. The void is probably hittingnyou even harder now than the first day or so whenyou were probably in mild shock.
Is there anything we can do to help?? We are here for you still. The support doesn't end after one post...we are all always connected and here for each other.
We all loved Bailey too and cheered her on with every victorious moment. She just sparkled with so much joy and thoroughly loved being pain free for all those months! Such a gift of time for both of you.
What is one thing you can think of that made Bailey just practically dance with excitement? Close your eyes and think of that one thing.....hold that happy image close to your heart and know that Bailey is smiling down on you.....so pleased that you thought of that one particular memory.
Surrounding you with Bailey's eternal grace.

Hi Anita,
So sorry for your loss. My Maggie also only survived 4 months, maybe you and Bonnie and myself should start a 4 month club like the Winter Warriors. Hopefully we will be a small group. I still do not regret my decision because it brought her out of pain and we had lots of good times together. But it's still short. Bailey was a cutie pie!!
